Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, Mortar & Pestle is an incredible rooftop bar in Singapore with insane views of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, all while offering a stunning and relaxed rooftop setting, an all-day brunch menu (as well as evening snacks!), and an extensive beverage menu!

Mortar & Pestle Rooftop Bar Singapore
Mortar & Pestle is located in one of Singapore’s top foodie hubs, right in the heart of Chinatown, just over the road from the iconic Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, and just a few hundred metres from Maxwell Food Centre and Sri Mariamman Temple.
As a result, the rooftop boasts the very best views of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple from its outdoor rooftop terrace, as well as the surrounding Chinatown skyline.
The outdoor patio area is absolutely stunning, and even though it was pretty cloudy on the day we visited, it *almost* felt like we could have been on a rooftop in Greece, Italy, or Ibiza, and not in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown district!
There are numerous tables and chairs outside, as well as gorgeous sofa seating areas, making it an idyllic place to relax and unwind with a refreshing cold beverage. Inside, you’ll find more places to sit, and the enormous retractable patio doors open up to allow for a giant event space, which is super handy considering Mortar & Pestle are renowned for hosting many corporate events, business meetings, as well as birthday parties and gatherings for special occasions!
They also host live DJ nights, details of which you can usually find on their website linked below or on their Instagram.

Mortar & Pestle menu
Upon our arrival at Mortar & Pestle, we were greeted by the lovely Ines, who kindly showed us around the rooftop and explained details of the menu. As we were there for the hour before sunset, we missed out on the all-day brunch menu (which is served daily from 9 AM to 5 PM), but we did manage to order a tasty snack from the PM menu!
Along with our glasses of the house rosé (which was super refreshing in the 30°C+ Singapore heat!), we opted for the truffle tater tots which now live rent free in my mind; they are SO good and I would 100% recommend them if you’re heading to Mortar & Pestle in the evening!
As well as these mouth-watering treats, you’ll also find sharing plates such as charcuterie boards and vegetarian platters, as well as chips and dips, mozzarella sticks, chicken gyoza, fish and chip bites, spiced chicken wings, and more.
The rooftop also boasts a fantastic drinks menu, with an extensive list of coffees, tea, smoothies, juices, beer, wine, and spirits.
The all-day brunch menu features highlights such as granola bowls, avocado toast, quesadillas, and more; I’d love to try some of these dishes next time we’re at Mortar & Pestle!
Rooftop views of Chinatown from Mortar & Pestle Singapore
The views from Mortar & Pestle Rooftop Bar are some of my favourite in Singapore, and even though you can’t see typical iconic landmarks such as Marina Bay, the Singapore Flyer or the Central Business District, I love how Mortar & Pestle offers such unique views of Chinatown!
The views of the famous Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown from the rooftop of Mortar & Pestle is particularly impressive, and we were lucky enough to witness a gorgeous sunset over the temple on our visit to the rooftop.
You can also see surrounding buildings and the hustle and bustle of Chinatown itself, but nothing compares to those insane temple views! I particularly love that the views are pretty much completely unobstructed, making it an absolute joy to just sit back, relax with a glass of ice-cold wine, and take in the peaceful surroundings.

Mortar & Pestle Singapore Rooftop Bar is 100% worth visiting, especially if you love imaginative cocktails, all-day brunch, and fantastic views combined with local culture!
