A winter care package is a great way to show the people in your life how much you care during those long, cold winter months.

Whether you’re creating a winter care package for your grandparents, your boyfriend, your friends, or your neighbours, I’ve put together a list of the best winter care package ideas to include in your gift basket to show people you’re thinking of them.

From a decadent cheese and wine platter to cosy knitwear to a luxurious box of chocolates, this ultimate guide to the best winter care package ideas includes everything you need and more!

1. A luxurious food hamper – winter care package ideas

One of the best winter care package ideas to consider is a huge food hamper full of things like cheese, crackers, chutneys, chocolate, bread, wine and more.

A Christmas hamper full of delicious food and drink is the perfect gift to give to anyone who needs a little extra love this winter but I think it’s an incredibly thoughtful gift to give to someone elderly to show them that you’re thinking of them.

2. Candles

Candles are another excellent item to add to the perfect care package, especially during the cold winter months as they make everything feel super warm and cosy and they always make an excellent Christmas gift.

Yankee Candle is always my go-to brand for candle gift sets as they have so many delicious scents and they come in a vast range of different sizes, depending on whether you prefer little tealights or huge candle jars.

3. A cosy blanket

A warm, fluffy blanket is essential to winter care packages, especially as the cost of living continues to rise and heating bills are skyrocketing.

I always love these Teddy blankets as they’re insanely thick and warm, and they’re also pretty affordable, too.

4. A fluffy pair of socks

Fluffy socks make great Christmas gifts and are also a great item to include in a winter package as they’re perfect for everyone.

These slipper socks are super thick and warm and they come in so many different colours, so they’re ideal for including in a winter care package for your boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend and more!

5. Fleeced pyjamas – winter care package

When creating a winter care package, there’s a definite theme of “warm and cosy” that emerges and a pair of fleeced pyjamas is one of my number one essentials.

They’re available in a tonne of different colours, so again, they’re ideal for anyone.

6. A box of chocolates

While you may want to include a box of chocolates as part of a food hamper care package, they also make a great gift on their own as well.

Galaxy Chocolate is one of my favourites and this huge gift box includes all of my favourite treats (including smooth orange and cookie crumble), but you could also create your own gift box with lots of the recipient’s favourite chocolate.

7. Homemade soup

Homemade soup is an excellent gift idea to include in a holiday package as it’s such a thoughtful, personal gift and it will be especially well-received by someone who’s suffering from a cold or flu during the winter months.

8. A photo book

A photo book is an excellent gift idea, especially for grandparents, as it’s so thoughtful and personal and it’s a great way of showing your loved ones just how much you care.

I’ve gifted many members of my family photo books over the years and it’s always one of my favourite gifts to create as I love the personalisation of it.

9. Books – winter care package ideas

The winter months can be incredibly long and sometimes quite boring for many people, so a good selection of books is a great idea to include in a gift box.

You can never go wrong with the complete Harry Potter series, or a collection of second-hand books from your local charity shop is also a great idea as you’ll be purchasing books from a good cause, while still providing an excellent gift for someone.

10. Plants and flowers

Plants and flowers make for a great gift during the winter months as they’re a great way to cheer someone up and provide a bit of greenery to someone’s space when most of the plants, trees and flowers have died outside.

This air-purifying plant collection makes for the perfect gift in the colder months as it provides plenty of indoor greenery, while also being a great addition to someone’s home when it’s more difficult to get lots of fresh air inside due to the cold weather.

The beetroot and orange chutney actually sounds really nice to me as well, I don’t care that makes me sound elderly hehe, I love it! adding in a cosy blanket, some soup and a box of chocolates, would make this lovely hamper even better!
