The Fleur Room NYC – Moxy Chelsea Rooftop Bar

The Fleur Room NYC - Moxy Chelsea Rooftop Bar

Located on the 35th floor of the Moxy Hotel in Chelsea, The Fleur Room NYC is one of the most sought-after rooftops in Manhattan thanks to its extraordinarily Instagrammable interior.

Not only that, but it also boasts some of the best views of the Empire State Building, Summit One Vanderbilt, and Edge, thanks to its convenient location on West 28th Street, right in the heart of Chelsea.

The entrance to the rooftop is located just next door to the main entrance to the Moxy Chelsea hotel, and you won’t be able to miss it as it’s adorned with a stunning floral display!

The Fleur Room’s location also means that it’s less than a 10-minute walk to some of my other favourite nearby rooftops, including Sandbar Rooftop, 230 Fifth, Somewhere Nowhere, and ART NoMad (Arlo Roof Top).

The Fleur Room NYC menu

If you’re wondering how much do drinks cost at The Fleur Room, you probably won’t be too surprised to discover that the cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine are priced very similarly to many other NYC rooftop bars.

Most cocktails range from $18 to $20, with the most expensive cocktail costing $28!

They also have an extensive bottle list, with bottles of whiskey, bourbon, gin, and vodka all being extortionately priced at around $700! The most expensive bottle on the menu is the
Remy Martin Louis XIII cognac for a whopping $10,000!

As part of our visit to The Fleur Room NYC, we were very kindly treated to four of their signature cocktails, including:

  • “Fleur of the Valley” – Belvedere Vodka (I switched this for gin), Prosecco, Strawberry, Basil.
  • “Mr. Pink” – Dos Hombres Mezcal, Pomegranate, Agave, Lime.
  • “The Talisman” – Old Forester Bourbon, Honey Chamomile Nectar, Lemon, Cardamom Bitters.
  • “Lilac Jane” – Hendricks Gin, Lime, Grapefruit Infused Pea Flower Tea, Lavender

The “Fleur of the Valley” was by far my favourite, with the gin, prosecco, and strawberry flavours, it was so incredibly tasty and refreshing! The “Lilac Jane” was a little too floral for my liking, and the “The Talisman” and “Mr. Pink” were a bit too strong for me, but Matt loved them, especially “Mr. Pink” as he loves a Mezcal cocktail!

We were also very kindly treated to two of the happy hour bites at The Fleur Room and we opted for the prosciutto stuffed mozzarella sticks and the Wagyu meatball sliders, both of which were absolutely scrumptious!

Does The Fleur Room NYC have happy hour?

For a much more reasonably priced visit to The Fleur Room, I would suggest heading there for their happy hour deals, also known as “Mini Martini Hour”. This includes $9 mini martinis, each paired with a complimentary mini floral bouquet, plus $9 bites such as prosciutto stuffed mozzarella sticks, Wagyu meatball sliders, and margherita pizza.

You can also get $9 glasses of wine and $9 beers as part of the happy hour deals.

You can enjoy happy hour at The Fleur Room from Tuesday to Friday, 5 PM to 8 PM.

The Fleur Room Moxy Chelsea FAQs

If you’re still not 100% sure whether The Fleur Room would be the right rooftop bar addition to your New York itinerary, hopefully the FAQ section below will help you decide as I’ve tried to include everything you need to know about visiting!

How old do you have to be to get into The Fleur Room NYC?

Unfortunately (if you’re travelling with kids!), The Fleur Room is strictly a 21+ establishment at all times, so it’s not a suitable place if you’re visiting New York with young children or teenagers.

Do you need a valid ID to gain entry to the rooftop?

As The Fleur Room is a 21+ venue, you will need to show a valid form of ID to gain entry to The Fleur Room. This can be in the form of your passport or driving licence.

Do you need a reservation to visit?

Reservations are recommended, especially if you want to guarantee a good table with a view, but walk-ins are also accepted and welcomed, so it’s not entirely essential to make a reservation.

If you’re planning to visit The Fleur Room on a Friday or Saturday night, I would strongly encourage you to book online in advance as it’s a super popular place. We visited The Fleur Room on a Thursday at 5 PM in October, and by the time we were leaving at 7 PM, the place was already packed, so it’s definitely a good idea to make a reservation, even though it isn’t strictly required.

Is there a cover charge for visiting the rooftop?

There is no cover charge to visit The Fleur Room during Happy Hour.

However, if you want to attend one of the Nightlife Events at the rooftop, you are required to purchase a ticket via their events page (The Fleur Room NYC prices for ticketed events vary, so check online before you book).

What are the views like from The Fleur Room NYC?

As you can see from the many pictures throughout this guide, the views from The Fleur Room rooftop bar and lounge are absolutely incredible!

Not only can you enjoy remarkable views of some of Midtown Manhattan’s most prestigious skyscrapers, such as the Empire State Building, Summit One Vanderbilt, and Hudson Yards, but you can also see highlights such as the rooftop of 230 Fifth, the H&M Tower (4 Times Square), and even all the way to Downtown Manhattan!

Does The Fleur Room have a dress code?

The Fleur Room is one of the few rooftops that I’ve been to in NYC that does have somewhat of a required dress code. According to the rooftop’s website, their dress code “encourages individuality and self-expression, from glamorous chic to rock & roll”.

Items such as sports shorts, baseball caps, team jerseys, tank tops, and athletic wear are not permitted. To give you an idea, I wore a plain black jumpsuit with smart white trainers and Matt wore smart white shorts, a shirt, and smart trainers.

I think the dress code of “glam chic” might be more strictly enforced during the weekends and for the Nightlife Events, so if you are planning to visit The Fleur Room, I would err on the side of caution and make sure you’re dressed appropriately to avoid being turned away at the door.

Is The Fleur Room hard to get into?

Depending on the day/event, it can take a while to gain entry to The Fleur Room. Friday and Saturday nights, especially late in the evenings, often come with long queues and wait times as the rooftop is one of the most popular nightlife spaces in Midtown Manhattan.

Your best chance of visiting The Fleur Room without a reservation and long wait times is to head there just as it opens on a weekday.

The Fleur Room NYC reviews – conclusion

I really hope you’ve found this guide useful and I hope it’s provided you with plenty of information about visiting The Fleur Room NYC. It’s certainly one of the more upscale rooftop lounges in the city, so it’s not really somewhere that you’ll likely pop in to on a whim, but if you’re looking for somewhere elegant and glamorous in NYC, The Fleur Room might just be a good option!
