This post about one year of blogging may contain affiliate links.

Today marks one whole year of me having this blog and I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible it’s been. If you’ve followed me for a while now then I’m sure you’ve kept up with most of my antics but just in case you’re new around these parts, I wanted to put together a sort of summary about everything that this little slice of the internet has been through in the last 12 months.
I’ve actually been blogging since 2013 but I’ve long since deleted those old websites of mine because they were unbelievably cringey. Since starting this blog, however, I’ve grown in ways I can only imagine and I’m so immensely thankful for that
To everyone who reads my blog, I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am, and without getting too emotional, it really has been one of the best things I’ve ever done.
My first ever post was all about 50 facts about me in an attempt for you to get to know me a bit better. While some of the things on there may have changed a little bit, most of them still apply so go and have a read if you never saw that post!
The first few months of my blogging career were pretty hit and miss as I tried to “find my voice” in the online world. It wasn’t really until February time this year that I really developed a true passion and love for creating content and that’s when my posts became much more regular and a lot better in my opinion.

I started talking to more people on Twitter and I began to build my own little community, and that’s when I started talking to Em. I’m sure you’ll all know by now just how much I adore Em, and I’m so very grateful and happy that she’s in my life. I was lucky enough to meet her the other week and I already can’t wait for more cocktails and pizza nights.
It’s no secret that some of my absolute favourite posts to write are lists of “things” as I find them so therapeutic to write and they always seem to do the best in terms of traffic and engagement too, so I’m guessing you guys like them as well!
In April, I took part in the ‘A to Z Blogging Challenge’ where I blogged every single day throughout April and that absolutely ignited my love for blogging even further. I’ve always been an incredibly passionate writer but creating content every single day was just so much fun for me (which is why I’m blogging every day in October and December too!).

I’ve had a fair few travelling opportunities in the past year too, all of which have been documented on my blog. I’ve been to Budapest, Venice, Mallorca and Rome and we’re also heading to Amsterdam for the New Year so you can bet I’ll be writing all about that too!
Matt has been a very regular person to feature on my blog too and I can’t even begin to explain to you how unbelievably supportive he’s been. From helping me to take blog pictures, to waiting until I get the perfect shot of his burger for Instagram, Matt has been my absolute rock throughout the past year and I hope he knows just how amazing he really is.
I’ve also received a tonne of support from my family, and even though I was incredibly nervous to tell them about my blog at first, I couldn’t be happier with the way they’ve supported me. I truly am one very lucky lady.
My first official blogging event was back in June when I attended the #BloggersBall with a few of my favourite ladies. I was incredibly nervous to travel all the way down to London to meet them but I’m so very glad I did because I can now safely say that I’ve made friends for life by meeting those girls.

It goes without saying that the people who read my blog have made this past year a truly remarkable experience, whether I need some advice from my amazing friends on Twitter or I need some inspiration from the gorgeous girls that I follow on Instagram, I know that I can always count on the people of the internet to be there for me. There are so many amazing people I’ve met through the likes of my blog and Twitter and I honestly don’t think I’d be able to list them all, but you all definitely know who you are. From the lovely ladies I’ve met at various events, to the girls that I speak to almost every single day on Twitter but still haven’t got around to meeting, I hope you all know how unbelievably special you are to me.
I’ve created so many posts over the past year that I’ve been incredibly proud of so I wanted to finish this post off by sharing just a few of my favourites with you:
- A Weekend Away In Budapest
- Reverse Bucket List
- Venice Travel Guide
- A Week In Palma de Mallorca
Thank you all for being so unbelievably supportive; you truly are awesome!
