I’ve already written about how to spend 3 days in Jersey and all the best restaurants in Jersey, so I thought it was only right that I also wrote about the best place to stay on the island; The Club Hotel & Spa in St Helier!

Having travelled to over 50 countries, it’s safe to say that I’ve stayed in a fair few hotels in my time and after travelling full-time for over four years, I know what to look for in a “good” hotel and I’m delighted to say that The Club Hotel in Jersey more than lived up to my expectations!

Location – The Club Hotel & Spa St Helier review

The Club Hotel & Spa is a lovely boutique hotel situated in Saint Helier and despite residing just off a main road (and therefore not having the prettiest surroundings), the hotel is super conveniently located close to Saint Helier’s food and drink scene, as well as the nearby beaches, Lido and harbour.

As the hotel is located quite close to the main road, I expected there to be tonnes of road traffic noise, but the giant double-glazed windows in every room provide plenty of respite from the noise outside.

It takes around 20 minutes to drive from Jersey Airport to The Club Hotel and you can get there via local taxi for £15-£20 or by hiring a car for your time in Jersey.

Rooms at The Club Hotel & Spa, Jersey

As soon as we checked into The Club Hotel & Spa, I couldn’t wait to get to our room! Despite having stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years, I still absolutely love staying in a hotel and as it was my first time staying at The Club (and my first time in Jersey as a whole), I was so excited to see what the hotel rooms were like!

Suffice it to say, I was blown away by the stunning decor, the huge, comfy bed, the chaise lounge and the incredibly well-stocked minibar!

My room at The Club Hotel in St Helier, Jersey was also equipped with an en suite complete with giant, fluffy towels and robes, plus a sizeable bathtub; the epitome of hotel luxury!

One thing in particular that I found very intriguing and exciting about the rooms at The Club Hotel was the extensively stocked minibars!

The mini bars were complete with everything from mini bottles of alcohol to crisps and chocolate to teddy bears and even phone chargers, adapters, pillow sprays and a very fancy “couples kit” that consisted of everything to make a night at The Club Hotel, St Helier a very romantic experience…!

Food and drink – The Club Hotel & Spa St Helier review

Food and drink are an integral part of my travels and the food in Jersey truly exceeded all of my expectations!

Thankfully, it’s not just the restaurants in Jersey that have an awesome reputation, the food and drink available at The Club Hotel & Spa in St Helier is also phenomenal! Continue reading to discover my must-eats in the hotel!

Breakfast

As part of our 3-night stay at The Club Hotel & Spa, St Helier, we were kindly treated to breakfast every morning.

A good breakfast is one of the best parts of staying in a fancy hotel and thankfully, the breakfast at The Club Hotel was excellent, with so many things to choose from.

From continental classics such as toast, porridge, cereal, fruit, meat and cheeses to decadent Full English fry-ups to an assortment of egg dishes, plus plenty of veggie and vegan-friendly options too, I’d seriously urge you to add breakfast to your stay at The Club Hotel & Spa.

Bohemia Michelin Star restaurant

Bohemia is The Club Hotel’s on-site Michelin Star restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel that boasts numerous exciting menu options.

From an excellent afternoon tea menu to set lunches, 4-course dinner menus and even a surprise menu if you’re feeling particularly fancy, Bohemia is not only a fantastic place to eat inside the hotel, but it’s also one of the best and most highly-rated restaurants in Jersey!

Indoor/outdoor dining terrace

If a fancy dinner at Bohemia doesn’t satisfy your appetite, you can opt for a lighter bite in the more casual dining area of the indoor restaurant or outdoor terrace.

The outdoor terrace is the perfect spot for a refreshing glass of wine and classic bar nibbles, whereas the indoor dining area is great for lunch or dinner without the frills or pressure of eating in a Michelin Star restaurant.

You’ll find a myriad of dishes on The Club Bar & Terrace menu, including katsu curry, fish and chips, spaghetti bolognese, local seabream, rib eye steak and much more.

Honesty Bar

One of the best and most unique features of The Club Hotel in Saint Helier, Jersey is the Honesty Gin Bar, located just opposite the reception area in the lobby.

The Honesty Bar works on an honesty basis (no, really!) whereby you can pour your own drinks throughout the day/evening and then write down what you made along with your room number and post it in the honesty box.

At first, I was unsure as to how well this kind of thing would work as I assumed many people would take advantage of it and not be truthful about the number of drinks they’d had, but according to hotel staff at The Club, it seems to work very well for them. It’s also such a beautiful little spot in the hotel that’s great to chill out in after a busy day exploring the island.

Amenities at The Club Hotel & Spa St Helier

If you were already about to book a stay at The Club Hotel & Spa in Jersey after reading this review so far, I’m about to convince you even further by sharing details about all the additional amenities and features you can find within the hotel!

Spa

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of the inside of the spa at The Club Hotel as I didn’t have time to use the facilities myself due to our jam-packed itinerary in Jersey!

However, some of the people on my press trip to Jersey managed to squeeze an early morning visit to the spa (I was much more preoccupied with enjoying the king sized bed all to myself!) and they said it was a truly excellent space.

Inside the spa, you’ll find five luxurious treatment rooms, including a romantic couple’s room and a Rasul mud room.

There are plenty of treatments to choose from at The Club Spa Jersey, including detox facials, full body massages, mud treatments, manicures, pedicures and more.

I was gutted that I didn’t get the chance to experience the spa facilities at the hotel myself, but it’s definitely on my list for the next time I visit Jersey!

Indoor pool

In addition to the spa facilities inside the hotel, there’s also a large indoor saltwater swimming pool that’s ideal for getting a few lengths in before you go out and explore the island.

Again, we didn’t get the chance to try out the indoor pool due to our busy schedule in Jersey, but I would love to have a dip next time!

Outdoor pool

As well as the indoor pool, The Club Hotel also boasts a Mediterranean 5* resort-worthy outdoor lounge area, complete with its very own outdoor pool.

While it’s not exactly an Olympic-sized swimming pool, it is a gorgeous little swimming area to cool off in during the hot summer months.

There are also plenty of poolside sunloungers as well; perfect for relaxing on an evening after a busy day in Jersey.

Conference room

I’ve saved the least interesting part about The Club Hotel in St Helier to last, but that doesn’t mean to say that it’s not a great addition to the amenities at the hotel!

The sizeable conference room in the hotel is perfect if you’re visiting Jersey for business as it makes for an excellent meeting room for dozens of people.
