Are you looking for inspiration for what to make with the Aldi tapas selection? I’ve got you covered in my guide below all about the best Aldi Spanish tapas dishes!
Autumn is without a doubt my absolute favourite time of year; the leaves, the colours, the weather, the cosy nights in, I could go on for over a thousand words about why I love autumn so much.
However, one of my very favourite things about the autumnal months is the food. Getting home from work and changing into some comfy clothes, lighting some delicious smelling autumnal candles and then cooking up an absolute storm in the kitchen, before settling down and watching something cosy while tucking into a heavenly meal.
Since we moved into our own studio apartment, we’ve become quite capable of cooking some pretty incredible meals which is a skill that I’m so glad I’ve learned. However, we are pretty short on space, especially in the kitchen so it can often be a little tricky to prepare lots of different dishes.
When Aldi challenged me to create some yummy autumnal recipes, however, I knew that I was more than up for it. We’ve been shopping at Aldi for months now and it’s undoubtedly one of my favourite supermarkets and after they challenged me to create my own tapas dishes at home, I feel confident in saying that they have the best supermarket tapas range available!
If you’re looking for the best Aldi tapas dishes, I’ve got you covered in today’s post!
The ultimate Aldi tapas selection

As soon as I received the challenge from Aldi, I knew that I wanted to create an autumnal tapas menu. Tapas food is probably my very favourite thing at the moment; getting a wide variety of different dishes and combining them together to make an incredibly decadent feast is just the very best.
A couple of weeks ago, when Matt and I both had the evening off, we headed to Aldi, equipped with a list of ideas for what we wanted to make. I’ve never really shopped at Aldi before but I was absolutely blown away by the vast selection of food, drink, toys and homeware they have; not to mention how unbelievably affordable everything was!
There were so many things we wanted to make, and with the incredible offerings at Aldi, it was really hard to narrow it down to just a few dishes.
Below you can find a list of everything we bought, as well as the recipes we made up ourselves to create the most delicious autumnal tapas menu with Aldi!

- Carrots – £0.33
- And some Haribo Tangfastics for an after-dinner treat 😉 – £0.85
All of this came to a grand total of £19.64 which is really incredible, considering that we bought a number of condiments such as BBQ sauce, garlic mayo and salt and pepper as well as enough food to last us for two nights’ worth of autumnal tapas!
I couldn’t have been more impressed with everything we picked up from Aldi for our tapas night; here are some of the dishes we created with the ingredients we bought!
There were some dishes that we didn’t really need to put together a recipe for; such as the pigs in blankets, sweet potato fries and the haddock fillets.
We simply dusted some salt and pepper over these, a touch of oil and then whacked them in the oven.
One traditional tapas dish that we did recreate however was patatas bravas, which is probably one of my all-time favourite tapas dishes ever.
Aldi Patatas bravas

For this dish, we used the spicy mini jacket potatoes which already had a light dusting of paprika on them.
These were incredibly easy to make; we simply added a touch of salt and pepper to the potatoes in a bowl, added six slices of circular chorizo to them and then popped them in the microwave for three minutes.
In the meantime, we made a sauce using the Aldi pasta sauce, some herbs, a touch of garlic and cheese and some salt and pepper (we also used half of this sauce for the meatballs too).
Once the potatoes were out of the microwave, we drizzled the sauce over them so that they were entirely coated in it. The potatoes were actually one of my favourite parts of the meal and they were ridiculously easy to make – three minutes in a microwave?! Count me in!
Chicken and chorizo

Chicken and chorizo is a delectable dish to enjoy at any time of year but I knew that I definitely wanted it to be a part of my autumnal tapas menu with Aldi.
It was so incredibly simple to make but so effective and so bloody delicious and I’m already dreaming about it again…
We diced up the chicken breast and cooked them in a frying pan on a very low heat with some garlic and herbs and, you guessed it, some salt and pepper thrown in too. We then added some diced chorizo and the Wagyu beef jerky and sprinkled some cheese that we had leftover in the fridge and omfg the result was immense.
I think this was potentially my favourite autumnal tapas dish that we made with Aldi; the flavours were insane and I would 100% cook this again.
Aldi tapas meatballs
The Aldi meatballs for our tapas evening was yet another dish that was remarkably easy to make. We cooked the meatballs in the oven for 25 minutes, ensuring that they were piping hot all the way through. We then used the remainder of the Aldi pasta sauce that was also used for the patatas bravas.
The sauce itself wasn’t the nicest pasta sauce I’ve ever had but the meatballs were incredibly juicy and tasty and I would definitely recommend them! They were also only £1.89 for a pack of 12 which is an absolute bargain!
The rest of the dishes we made required very little preparation or organisation; we simply whacked them in the oven and left them to cook for their allotted time. I’m not a huge fan of spring rolls but Matt is and he absolutely adored the vegetable spring rolls from Aldi; the haddock fillets were incredibly tasty and the batter was lightly crispy and extremely moreish.
One dish we weren’t too keen on were the sweet potato fries as they were a little too soggy and just not quite crispy enough for our liking. Everything else was absolutely perfect though, and I really couldn’t fault it!
Tapas is absolutely one of my favourite meals to make/eat and the autumnal tapas spin was definitely a good idea! Thank you so much to Aldi for providing us with the ingredients to make these wonderful dishes; I’m definitely going to be shopping at Aldi again as the food is truly wonderful and so incredibly affordable!

Tapas is definitely the best!
This post could not have come at a better time, we are off to our local Aldi tomorrow! I adore tapas and I agree with you completely about the choice and value at Aldi, no wonder they are scoring so many points over the other supermarket retailers. Great choices, looks so yummy! x

Not only does the food look incredible, it’s crazy just how much you got for the price as well.. ???? I really need to start shopping more at Aldi, I’m always being told their food is really good quality for the price as well! ????
I couldn’t believe how affordable it all was! X
Aldi is actually a really great place to shop – it’s surprising how much they actually have available! Especially with the wide range of products too. I have got quite a few good non-food products like this gorgeous wooden box I have for storing my paint products – it’s such good quality and wasn’t expensive either! Looks like you made some great dishes at such a cheap price. It’s making me hungry looking at them pictures as I haven’t had dinner yet, haha.
