Are you looking to visit Hanoi and wondering where to stay in Hanoi Old Quarter for 4 days or 4 weeks? This extensive review of the Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side apartments will inspire you to book a stay!
I’ve been lucky enough to stay in many cities around the world for a month at a time, including New York City, Playa del Carmen, Split, Paphos, Ho Chi Minh City, and more, so when we got our 90-day visas for Vietnam, we knew that we wanted to add Hanoi to that list of places!
Choosing where to stay in Hanoi wasn’t a difficult decision; as soon as we came across Wecozy Hanoi, we knew that this was the perfect place to base ourselves for a month in Hanoi.
In my ultimate review and guide below, I’m sharing absolutely everything you need to know about staying at Wecozy Railway Side in the Old Quarter of Hanoi!
Where to stay in Hanoi Old Quarter – Wecozy Apartments overview
Located in the Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi, just 800m from Ha Noi Railway station, Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side is also just a 15-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, a 10-minute walk from the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and a 20-minute walk from the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, so it’s very conveniently situated close to many of Hanoi’s top sights and attractions.
Featuring over a dozen different rooms, including a studio flat, 1 bedroom apartments, 2 bedroom apartments and even a huge 3 bedroom duplex, Wecozy Railway Side is undoubtedly the best place to be for long (and short!) stays in Hanoi!
The staff at Wecozy Hanoi are absolutely incredible; they’re always on hand for any questions or issues you have and they were always so happy to help. I felt truly honoured to have met such lovely locals while staying at Wecozy!
Where to find Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side

Wecozy Railway Side is located approximately 19 miles (30km) from Noi Bai International Airport and you can get from the airport to the Old Quarter of Hanoi via paid airport shuttle or a Grab taxi for around 300,000 VND (£10 / $12).
It’s less than a mile from Hoan Kiem Lake and best of all, it’s situated directly above the infamous Train Street in Hanoi, so many of the rooms actually have an incredible vantage viewpoint of this renowned Hanoi tourist attraction!
One of my favourite things about the location of the Wecozy Railway Side apartment building is that it’s located on P. Tống Duy Tân Street which is home to some of my favourite Hanoi cafes and restaurants such as Puku, Xofa, Muối Tiêu and Ky Dong Restaurant (some of the best and by far cheapest Vietnamese food in Hanoi!). You don’t even need to go further than a 200 metre radius of Wecozy Hanoi and you’d be able to visit at least a dozen different restaurants/cafes!
Address: 20 P. Tống Duy Tân, Hàng Bông, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội.
1 bedroom apartment at Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side The Old Quarter

During our one month in Hanoi, we stayed in the beautiful 1 bedroom apartment at Wecozy Railway Side on the 7th floor of the building.
We actually spent the first night of our month at Wecozy in the two bedroom apartment on the 6th floor (more on that below) as our room wasn’t quite ready when we first arrived, so it was awesome to be given the chance to stay in two different room options at Wecozy as it allows me to write a more thorough review for this guide!
There are numerous 1 bedroom apartments at Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side, from the 1st floor to the 8th floor (each floor has 2-3 room options).
Our 1 bedroom apartment was one of my favourite places we’ve ever stayed for an extended period of time as it really felt like our own place.
The bedroom was way bigger than we expected, with a Queen-sized bed accompanied by the comfiest pillows I’ve ever slept on; I seriously need to find myself some of these one day as they were the best pillows I’ve ever experienced!
The bathroom is equipped with both a bathtub and a shower which I absolutely loved as it meant that we had the choice of both!

I loved the separate bedroom and kitchen/living area as it’s so nice to be able to cook without the smell of food lingering in the bedroom and I loved how much bigger the space was than we originally thought when booking!
The separate dining area worktop/sofa was also a welcome bonus as it meant that we could work/eat at the kitchen island and then relax on the sofa in the evening. The only slight issue I had with this setup is that the bar stools were pretty uncomfortable (chairs with back support would have been much better), but it really was a small inconvenience!
There is also a built-in washing machine/dryer in the apartment, although the dryer function didn’t work so we had to use the staff ones on the upstairs rooftop area, which was no issue at all.
We also really appreciated having both a fridge/freezer, as well as a kettle, a microwave and an electric hob, even if it was just 1-ring, as it meant that we could cook some meals in the apartment as well as trying out many of Hanoi’s best cafes and restaurants!
The whole apartment is decorated so beautifully and it was always so clean (as we were there for a month, the staff at Wecozy offered us housekeeping twice a week for free which was very much appreciated!).
I really couldn’t recommend the one bedroom apartments at Wecozy Railway Side Hanoi enough; they’re incredibly spacious for two guests (or solo travellers!) and it really did feel like a home away from home.

2 bedroom apartment at Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side The Old Quarter Review

As I mentioned above, we (coincidentally/accidentally!) stayed in two different apartments at Wecozy during our one month in Hanoi as our intended one bedroom apartment (see above) wasn’t quite ready, so the staff at Wecozy very kindly offered us the two bedroom apartment on the 6th floor for one night when we first arrived in Hanoi.
At first, I thought I was going to be gutted to have to leave the two bedroom apartment as it was so big, with a proper dining table and huge kitchen area and, of course, two very sizeable bedrooms!
However, I’m so glad that we switched to our originally intended one bedroom apartment on the 7th floor as I loved it so much more than the two bedroom!
The two bedroom apartments at Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side The Old Quarter would be absolutely perfect for 2-4 friends or families travelling with children who want to stay in central Hanoi.
One truly awesome thing about the two bedroom apartment on the 6th floor (along with multiple other apartments on the different floors) is that it has a fantastic outdoor terrace/balcony area that offers an incredible city view of Hanoi. The balcony is absolutely huge and it would also make for a lovely outdoor dining area!

The features and amenities of the two bedroom apartments at Wecozy Hanoi are pretty much exactly the same as the one bedroom apartments, but they just have an additional bedroom!
Features of the Wecozy Railway Side building
- Shared kitchen/lounge area on the ground floor of the building in addition to the kitchen in each apartment.
- Free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
- Access to washing machine/dryers/detergent if your room isn’t equipped with one.
- Elevator access all the way to the 7th floor, as well as stairs.
- Super friendly staff on hand 24/7 to answer your messages.

For reference, we paid £638 for 28 nights in the one bedroom apartment in Hanoi in September 2023, but they are becoming increasingly popular with bookings, so you may find that prices are higher at some times of the year than others.

Can you hear the trains when staying at Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side?
One question that many people will have as a result of this apartment building in Hanoi is whether you can hear the trains going past on Train Street below and the answer is yes, you absolutely can!
With our one bedroom apartment looking directly over Train Street, we could hear every single train going past (even the ones in the middle of the night!) and for light sleepers, this could definitely be an issue!
We truly became accustomed to hearing the trains go past every few hours during our month in Hanoi and as soon as we left Hanoi and headed to Ho Chi Minh City for a month, we actually missed hearing/seeing the trains from our apartment window!
If you’re a light sleeper, then perhaps Wecozy Hanoi Railway Side isn’t quite suited to you, but if you want to stay somewhere very affordable and absolutely beautiful with excellent amenities, wonderful staff and brilliant nearby cafes, attractions and sights, I would highly recommend booking a stay at Wecozy Hanoi!
