Last Sunday, I was lucky enough to go and see the Paulos Circus in York with my younger brother and sister.

I felt immensely proud and grateful that I was able to give my siblings this experience, all because of my passion for writing and creating content on this little blog.

We had an awesome afternoon at the circus and today’s post is all about our visit to the Paulos Circus; just one of the many things to do in York.

We went to see the 2 pm showing on Sunday afternoon and it was such a perfect way to spend a few hours. The whole tent was full and the show was fully sold out – a great first sign of what was to come.

The show began with extravagant lighting, music and plenty of drama. There were strobe lights and flashing lasers (something that I would definitely bare in mind if you’re sensitive to lights).

The first performance began with three of the circus performers carrying out mind-blowing tricks on this huge double-circle piece of equipment. It was both equally terrifying and mesmerising to watch – my little sister sat with her mouth open the whole time!

The skills of the performers were truly incredible and I can only imagine the time, effort and immense amount of practising that must have gone into perfecting the performance.

Next up was a brief performance from the entertainer ‘Mr N’ who provided us with plenty of laughs and silly jokes.

The ‘knife throwing’ event was next and that really had everyone on the edge of their seats; one lady was standing against a wall while her partner threw knives at her at various speeds and without hesitation; it was remarkably impressive!

I don’t really want to give too much away about the entire performance as I think the surprise factor really plays a huge part in the entire show but there were so many exciting elements of the show.

There was one lady who was insanely good at swinging off a hoop that was suspended from the ceiling; my little sister was particularly impressed by this as she’s quite the gymnast herself!

I think the finale of the show was the main highlight for most attendees as it was truly gripping!

Two performers showed us their tightrope walking skills, all the while riding a bicycle and being suspended by the tiniest piece of rope!

We had a truly amazing time at the Paulos Circus and I really couldn’t recommend it enough. The performers were so entertaining and constantly captured the audience’s attention.

Thank you so much to the guys at Paulos Circus for providing us with an amazing show!

It’s so lovely that you are able to treat your siblings to this wonderful day out, it really is such a great perk of blogging to be able to take your loved ones along for special experiences such as this! I’m not surprised that the knife throwing event had everyone on tenterhooks, I would definitely be watching from behind my fingers haha! I’ve never actually been to the circus but now I really want to go, next time I’m in your neck of the woods, I’ll have to check this place out!
