I’ve been lucky enough to stay in some truly incredible hotels during my travels, including the Waldorf Astoria in New York City (which is unfortunately closed for renovations at the moment), the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square and The Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh, plus many more.
While I’ve stayed in some truly stunning properties, there are still a fair few hotels that are on my bucket list, including The Plaza Hotel, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah and Marina Bay Sands, plus as many of the 25hours Hotels as possible.
So, when I got the opportunity to stay at the 25hours Hotel Munich branch as part of our two-week interrailing trip around Europe, I couldn’t wait to visit one of my ultimate bucket list hotels!
I’ve been obsessed with the 25hours Hotel brand for over five years now and we were actually scheduled to visit the Munich hotel back in the summer of 2018 but that trip was cancelled due to bad weather in the UK. I couldn’t contain my excitement, therefore, when the team at 25hours Hotel The Royal Bavarian in Munich got in touch and invited us to experience the hotel during our time in Germany.
Writing food and hotel review and recommendation posts are always my favourites to create, so I’m super excited to share my extensive review of the 25hours Hotel in Munich in today’s post! If you’ve got a trip planned to Munich anytime soon, be sure to check out the 25hours Hotel brand for an epic place to stay!

Upon checking into the hotel, which is located just a stone’s throw away from the main train station in Munich, I couldn’t believe how cool and quirky the decor was.
The reception is located on the second floor of the building and once you reach the lobby, you’re greeted by iridescent lights, extravagant statues and fascinating sculptures. It’s one of the most eclectic spaces I’ve ever walked into and I instantly loved it!
The team at reception were super helpful and efficient and we were in our room in no time…
The rooms

There are 165 rooms at The Royal Bavarian 25hours Hotel in Munich, ranging from small, medium, large and extra large, plus there’s also the spectacular Swan Suite and the beautiful Peacock Suite.
We stayed in a medium room which was remarkably spacious; I didn’t see any of the other rooms, but ours was huge so I imagine the others must feel enormous!
Complete with a comfy queen bed, a desk and a chair area, a roomy bathroom complete with a giant walk-in shower, plus plenty of storage space and even a free mini-bar, the rooms at 25hours Hotel are beautifully decorated and very generous in terms of size and amenities.

I absolutely adored the bathroom, with its stylish black tiles, huge mirror, gorgeous gold accents and even a black toilet!
The shower itself was wonderful and so warm and powerful; something that’s obviously incredibly important, but I’ve found that many hotels often underachieve on this front.

One particular touch that I loved about the 25hours Hotel chain (at least, the ones we’ve stayed at in Munich and Vienna so far) is that every room comes equipped with a decent-stocked minibar. Ours included two bottles of water, a bottle of Fritz Kola, one beer and one alcohol-free beer, two bars of Kinder chocolate and a packet of crisps.
Little touches like this really make a hotel stand out for me as it shows that they really go above and beyond to make your time at the hotel truly enjoyable and memorable.
There was also an old typewriter in our room and while it didn’t work particularly efficiently, it was still such a cool and unique touch that made the stay even more authentic and enjoyable.
The only slight little qualm I had about the room was that it was pretty dark, even with a giant window. However, there’s stunning ambient lighting throughout which gives it a remarkably warm and cosy feel, so this really wasn’t too much of an issue at all!
What’s included with a stay at 25hours Hotel The Royal Bavarian?

- Free minibar
- Bluetooth speaker
- Free use of Freitag or Canvasco bag for the duration of our stay
- Schindelhauer bicycles for hire to get around the city

Restaurants and bars at 25hours Hotel Munich

There are numerous places to enjoy a tipple or two and a bite to eat at The Royal Bavarian 25hours Hotel in Munich.
NENI München at 25hours Hotel Munich
The on-site NENI München restaurant is a truly beautiful space on the ground floor of the hotel. The restaurant offers a delightful menu consisting of concoctions inspired by Israeli, Romanian, and Spanish cuisines, with dishes such as Babaganoush, Korean fried chicken, Shawarma and more to tantalise your tastebuds.
The decor of the NENI München restaurant is also so gorgeous, with plenty of places to sit and eat or just grab a refreshing cocktail after a day of exploring the city.
Opening hours:
- Monday to Friday: 12 PM – 3 PM & 5.30 PM – 11 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 12.30 PM – 3 PM & 5.30 PM – 11 PM

Boilerman Bar
There’s also the Boilerman Bar which has a very authentic speakeasy vibe to it. It’s located just opposite the library area (more on that below) and it’s such a stunning space. I could have happily spent hours here sipping scrumptious cocktails and unwinding in the beautiful bar.
Opening hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 6 PM – 1 AM
- Friday & Saturday 6 PM – 2 AM
- Sunday: 6 PM – 1 AM
Companion Bar/NENI Deli
The Companion Bar is located right next to the NENI restaurant and it can also be accessed from outside the main entrance to the hotel.
Serving deli-style dishes, coffee and other assorted beverages, it’s a great spot to grab a bite to eat for the day if you don’t want to indulge in a huge breakfast at the hotel.
The library/lounge area

I’ve already briefly mentioned the library/lounge area of the 25hours Hotel in Munich but I wanted to give it its own section because it was probably my favourite part of the whole hotel.
Teeming with ancient classics as well as giant doorstop coffee table books, the library area of the hotel is ornately decorated in the most stunning red and purple tones.
There are plenty of seating areas, ranging from plush velvet sofas to bar stools to comfy chairs that are perfect for perching. This room looks great in the pictures I took, but once you see it for yourself, I’m sure you’d be blown away by its sheer beauty.
Breakfast at The Royal Bavarian Hotel Munich

As part of our stay at The Royal Bavarian 25hours Hotel, we were treated to a complimentary breakfast on the day of our departure.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant of the hotel and boasts a vast and varied selection of continental breakfast options. You’ll find assorted pastries and bread, plus plenty of meats, cheeses, fruit and an excellent hot beverage selection.
As much as I adore a proper full English breakfast spread when I’m staying in a hotel, I really enjoyed the breakfast choices on offer at 25hours in Munich and we were so stuffed by the time we’d finished!
Sauna/spa at 25hours Hotel Munich

Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to try out the sauna room at the hotel during our stay as we were so busy exploring the city, but I did manage to have a peak inside when it was completely empty.
Located on the fourth floor of the hotel, the spa/sauna room of the wellness area is very light, airy and spacious, making it the perfect place to cool off after a spell in the sauna. There is also a small but beautiful terrace area as well, making this the number one spot in the hotel to relax and unwind after a busy day.
Where is 25hours Hotel Munich located?

The 25hours Hotel in Munich is perfectly and conveniently located less than a 3-minute walk from München Hauptbahnhof; the main train station in the city. Its advantageous address also means that it’s close to many of Munich’s top hotspots such as Marienplatz (15 minutes walk), Munich Residenz (18 minutes walk) and Viktualienmarkt (20 minutes walk).
Address: Bahnhofpl. 1, 80335 München, Germany.
What time is check-in/check-out?

Check-in for 25hours Hotel Munich is available from 3 PM, however, you may be able to get early check-in if your room is available if you arrive before that time. We arrived at the hotel just after 12 PM and were able to check in early free of charge, but please bear in mind that this isn’t always possible.
I really love the fact that check-out is available until 12 PM on the day of your departure as many hotels that I’ve frequented in the past have a check-out time of 10 or 11 AM, which is often far too early for my liking!
How much does it cost to stay at the 25hours Hotel in Munich?

Nightly rates to stay at 25hours Hotel The Royal Bavarian in Munich range immensely depending on the day of the week, month and season that you intend to stay.
The cheapest rate that I can find for one night starts from £121 for a small room but nightly rates for their executive Peacock Suite can cost upwards of £850 a night.
