Slug and Lettuce York, primarily the Back Swinegate branch, has been one of my favourite places to eat and drink in York for many years now. Even before I was of legal drinking age, my friends and I would often go for dinner at Slug and Lettuce and I always loved the food and the atmosphere and I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to have a cocktail night there!
The Cosmopolitan cocktails at Slug and Lettuce are also some of the best that I’ve ever had, and it’s a place that I’ll happily return to time and again for their awesome 2-4-1 cocktail offers.
If you’re thinking of treating your partner, friend or mum to a special meal in York, I’d highly recommend visiting Slug and Lettuce for their awesome bottomless brunch menu. My friend and I loved our experience and I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys!
We went on a Wednesday lunchtime so it was really quiet, which we were both pretty grateful for as we weren’t in the mood to be surrounded by tonnes of drunken people! It was a beautiful day in York, and even though Slug and Lettuce has a small outdoor seating area, we opted to sit inside (under the refreshing air-conditioning!).

Slug and Lettuce bottomless brunch price

When it comes to a boozy brunch, it’s often quite a shock at first when you realise how much you’re going to be spending on one meal and a few drinks, but I think as a treat every so often, it’s more than worth it, especially if you make use of the “bottomless” drinks (while drinking sensibly of course!).
If you’re wondering how much is the bottomless brunch at Slug and Lettuce York, you’ll be pleased to know that it costs £28 per person, which is actually pretty reasonable for York (some places cost £30+) and you get the choice of Prosecco by the glass, Mimosas, Aperol Spritz, Bloody Marys, Virgin Marys, pints of Amstel or a selection of soft drinks.
You can also choose to upgrade and pay an additional £10 to have Pornstar Martinis, but we both just opted for the Prosecco as it’s one of my favourite alcoholic beverages anyway. In theory, there’s no limit as to how many drinks you’re allowed to have (with the clue being in the name – bottomless), but of course, it’s important to drink responsibly and don’t go overboard just because they’re included within the price!
The standard cocktails menu at Slug and Lettuce is awesome and while you don’t get quite as much choice when enjoying brunch, there are still plenty of yummy (and most importantly, bottomless!) drinks to choose from to accompany your meal.

In terms of the food options for boozy brunch at Slug and Lettuce, you get to choose from all the brunch classics such as a Full English breakfast, avocado on toast, pancakes, Eggs Benedict and more. There’s also a great selection of veggie and vegan options available too which I think is always an added bonus, and even though I rarely go for these options, I always love to see food places accommodating all sorts of dietary preferences and requirements!
What to order at Slug and Lettuce York
My friend and I both opted for the Full English breakfast as I’m a sucker for any dish that’s served with hash browns! I can’t say that it was exactly world-class food, but it hit just the right spot and it’s definitely one of the better Full English breakfasts I’ve had in a while. I’ve also got quite a love/hate relationship with mushrooms and I usually have to really fancy them in order to be able to eat them, but I was delighted to discover that the ones at Slug and Lettuce were absolutely delicious and they were a perfect accompaniment to my dish!
One thing in particular that I really loved about the bottomless brunch at Slug and Lettuce York is that you’ve got a two-hour time slot, whereas a lot of other places that offer boozy brunch only give you an hour and a half, and let me tell you, that extra half an hour really makes a difference!
If you’re looking for a great place for bottomless brunch in York, complete with delicious food, a great atmosphere and of course, a plentiful supply of yummy beverages, I’d highly recommend adding Slug and Lettuce York to your list of places to eat in the city.
Slug and Lettuce’s boozy brunch is one of the best I’ve had in the city of York and one that I’d highly recommend for a girly day out or for a romantic date night as a couple.
