A picnic in Central Park is one of the best things to do in the summer in New York City in my opinion, as the world-renowned park has dozens of incredible places that make for the ultimate picnic spot! The only problem? How do you find the best picnic service provider in New York City?!

Enter: Perfect Picnic NYC. Located next to Central Park West, on West 100th Street, Perfect Picnic is the go-to place if you’re looking for an idyllic picnic set-up in New York City. Whether you’re looking for a quick grab and go picnic basket or you want to plan the dream picnic proposal set-up, Perfect Picnic have so many options!

In my Perfect Picnic NYC review, you’ll discover everything you need to know about this incredible NYC picnic service near Central Park!

From their convenient Grab & Go offers to dedicated picnic experiences to spectacular picnic gift boxes, Perfect Picnic truly are one of my favourite businesses in New York City!

***Please note: It is illegal to drink alcohol in Central Park. While we did receive a bottle of prosecco with our picnic, we saved this until we were back at our hotel and then just ate everything else as part of our picnic in Central Park.***

Grab & Go

The Perfect Picnic Grab & Go picnics cater to a myriad of occasions and people, including individual picnics, family picnics, and romantic picnics for two (this is the option that we experienced and you can see more about it in the section below!).

The Grab & Go picnics can be ordered and collected from Perfect Picnic anytime during the store’s opening hours (10 AM to 6 PM, daily). You can select your desired pick-up time and date at checkout.

Romantic picnic basket for two

If you’re looking for a romantic experience as a couple during your trip to New York City, I really couldn’t recommend the Romantic Picnic Basket for Two by Perfect Picnic NYC enough; it’s truly one of my favourite experiences from all my visits to the city!

At $200 for two people, the Romantic Basket for Two certainly isn’t a cheap day out in New York City, but I guarantee that it’s 100% worth it for the experience!

We collected our basket from Perfect Picnic on West 100th Street at midday and then headed straight inside Central Park to find the perfect picnic spot (head to the end of this guide to discover my top picnic spots in Central Park!).

I was absolutely delighted to discover just how much food was included with the Romantic Picnic basket; there was more than enough food for the two of us, and we even had to pack some of it back up to take away with us for a mid-afternoon snack! Our basket included:

A giant baguette
3 artisanal cheeses
3 types of cured meats
A fresh tub of summer berries
A tub of olives
A selection of pâté, crostini, pickles, and mustard
2 chocolate chip cookies
Bottle of prosecco

I’m a huge cheese and meat fanatic anyway, but the cheese and meats we enjoyed as part of our picnic experience were truly some of the best I’ve ever had, especially paired with the deliciously crusty baguette!

Honestly, writing this Perfect Picnic NYC review is making me so jealous of past me and I really wish I could do this experience all over again for the first time!

In addition to the Grab & Go picnic collections offered by Perfect Picnic NYC, they also offer their very own picnic set-up experiences where they’ll create the perfect picnic set-up for you, right in the heart of Central Park!

From romantic proposals to kids’ birthday parties to Mother’s Day picnics, Perfect Picnic can cater to almost any occasion, and provide the entire picnic treats, along with the fantastic set-up for your event!

Kids Birthday Picnic – from $45 per child with a minimum of 20 kids.
Family Style Picnic – from $65 per person with a minimum of 20 guests.
Gold Picnic – from $350 for 2 people plus $50 per guest up to 18 additional people.
The Proposal Picnic – from $450 for 2 people.
Formal Picnic – from $1,500 for 4 to 10 people.

Picnic catering

As well as the awesome Grab & Go picnics and the epic picnic experiences that Perfect Picnic NYC offer, they also provide incredible catering packages that you can tailor to your specific needs and wants.

There are catered breakfast and lunch packages available, as well as happy hour and party packages which are ideal for work events, meetings, or parties that require external catering!

They also offer catered packages for individual dishes/meal options, including salads, baguettinis, and platters, which are ideal for work meetings and events in the city.

How to get to Perfect Picnic NYC

As you can see from the map above, Perfect Picnic NYC is located all the way up on West 100th Street, so it’s not exactly right in the heart of Central Park (in fact, it would take 50 minutes to walk to Columbus Circle at the very southwestern corner of Central Park from the Perfect Picnic store; we did this the exact walking route through the park once we collected our basket from Perfect Picnic!).

However, the Perfect Picnic store is located just 3 blocks from the 103rd Street subway station, so if you’re staying in Midtown, for example, you can easily take the B subway train from 42 St-Bryant Park subway station or the C subway train from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal to 103rd Street and then walk the 3 blocks to Perfect Picnic from there.
