I’ve never been one to love fashion, in fact I famously hate shopping. Whenever a new season rolls around, I find myself cringing at the thought of heading into town to pick up new clothes.
That is, until this autumn rolled around and I’d truly never been more excited to discover new fashion trends and cosy and comfortable clothing.
With my upcoming trip to Prague just over a week away now, I wanted to make sure that I was fully stocked with cosy and comfortable travel wear and that’s where the amazing people behind M&S (Marks and Spencer) came in. They ever so kindly provided me with £100 to kit myself out for the autumn months and today’s post is all about what I picked up.
Here’s my picks for cosy and comfortable travel wear with M&S!
P.S. Make sure you read to the end of the post for an exciting competition with M&S!
As I previously mentioned, I’m really not one for clothes shopping at all but I have always loved wrapping up warm and cosy when the cold months roll around. With that in mind, when I took to the M&S website, I knew exactly what kind of items I wanted to pick up.
I was tasked with using their Click and Collect service on the M&S website which is something that I’d never actually done before but will definitely be using again!
I spent a while browsing the autumn/winter selection and then once I added everything to my basket, I couldn’t believe how easy it was to process my order. If you order by 10pm from Click and Collect from the M&S York Vangarde store then you’ll be able to collect your items the very next day! I was also delighted to discover that Click and Collect delivery to store is absolutely free which makes it even more inviting as there’s nothing I begrudge more than paying for delivery.
I’m trying to be braver with my clothes choices, and even though these items aren’t necessarily ground-breaking, they are slightly different to what I’d usually go for but I’m so incredibly happy with every single thing I bought.
The first thing that was on my list of items to buy was a new pair of winter boots. I had a gorgeous pair last year from New Look (I think) and they lasted me for the whole of autumn and winter until they started to look a little worse for wear.
These stunning block heel black boots from M&S were the exact kind of thing that I had in mind when browsing the M&S website. They are unbelievably comfy and they fit like an absolute dream. I haven’t really talked about it much on my blog, but I suffer really badly with my feet and I always find that no matter what style of shoes I get, they’re never quite comfortable or fit properly.
I haven’t had an issue with these boots so far though so I’m very optimistic that they’ll be the perfect footwear choice for our weekend in Prague.
When I went in to the M&S Vangarde store to pick up my items, one of the first things I noticed is that there were so many mustard coloured items in their autumn/winter collection. Mustard is a colour that I’ve admired on bloggers on Instagram for a while now but I’d never really felt brave enough to pull it off myself.
However, when I saw this gorgeous mustard coloured ribbed polo neck jumper on the M&S website, it just screamed cosy and comfortable travel wear to me. It’s also such a beautiful shade for autumn and I love how it pairs so well with a black skirt and black boots.
I know I’ll definitely be getting a lot of wear out of this jumper throughout autumn and winter this year and I love how it fits with my cosy and comfortable travel wear without being too warm; which means it’s perfect for layering. It’s also going to be a perfect jumper for our trip to Prague and I can’t wait to wear it there!
I’ve always been a huge fan of chunky cardigans but because I’m so small, I always worried that they sort of drowned me out a little. On my quest to becoming more confident with my outfit choices however, I decided that I didn’t care whether I looked slightly drowned and I picked up this beautiful open front grey cardigan.
It’s super soft, super warm and it’ll make for the perfect cosy and comfortable travel wear item for on the plane. I love wearing clothes that feel kind of like a pyjama/blanket hybrid and I think this cardigan achieves exactly that. It’s an ideal length for me as it’s not too long but it’s just the right length to keep me toasty warm in the cold weather.
The final item I picked up from M&S is this stunning round neck long sleeve jumper in the most vibrant shade of red. I’m a huge fan of anything red at this time of year and I actually think it’s a colour that suits me quite well so I was chuffed with this purchase. It’s an ideal piece that fits perfectly with my cosy and comfortable travel wear theme and I absolutely adore it!
It’s ideal for tucking into skirts which is how I’ll be wearing it most of the time but it could even be paired with jeans and boots for a more casual look. It’s remarkably soft and it’s such a nice fit; I also truly adore the colour of it and I can’t wait to wear it closer to Christmas as it just gives off so many festive vibes.
Marks and Spencer were very kind enough to provide me with a £50 gift voucher to give away to one of you guys! All you have to do is leave a comment below on your favourite piece from the AW18 collection from M&S! Good luck!
