Last week, I was incredibly lucky enough to be invited to the ibis Styles London Ealing hotel opening for an evening of prosecco, canapés and familiarising myself with the brand new and bespoke hotel.
I brought my mum along with me and it truly was such a wonderful evening; it’s so amazing to be able to take my mum along to these things and we both had such a lovely night.
Here’s what you can expect from the new ibis Styles London Ealing hotel.
After making our way up the short red carpet, we were greeted at the reception by the team of Mr. Highline who had very kindly invited us along to the event. The interior of the hotel lobby was sleek, stylish and remarkably creative and I just knew it was exactly the kind of hotel I’d happily stay in during a weekend away in London.
The concept of the hotel is movie themed, hence the red carpet, Hollywood-themed stuffed teddies and glamorous red and black decor. The ibis Styles London Ealing hotel is actually a fair drive from King’s Cross station; setting you back by about 40 minutes depending on traffic. Of course, you can opt for the tube which at certain times of the day, would be substantially quicker.
The location shouldn’t put you off however; it’s still in the incredibly idyllic and stylish borough of Ealing which is surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants should you wish to venture out of the hotel.
My mum was clearly delighted by the addition of the Star Wars teddies (even though she’s never actually seen Star Wars!).
The subtle but stylish choices of the interior of the hotel didn’t go unnoticed by the guests; from the fancy cocktails to the delicious canapés and the cinema themed walls that were present throughout the entirety of the hotel, every detail was clearly well thought out.
The hotel’s ideal demographic is both men and women in the business and leisure sector but I certainly think that almost everyone would enjoy staying in this flagship hotel; I wouldn’t hesitate to book a room here for a weekend break for Matt and I!
After a very prompt and polite check-in, we headed up to our room for the evening where the cinema theme continued, from the hallways all the way into the actual bedrooms themselves.
We were delighted to discover a complimentary copy of The Devil Wears Prada book on our desk, along with a bottle of wine, chocolates and a popcorn-shaped stress ball! It was clear that the staff at the newest addition to the ibis family had thought about every little detail to ensure their guests were well catered for and as comfortable as possible.
Our room itself was classic, stylish and simple. It offered lovely views of the reflective sunset in buildings over the road, two single (but incredibly comfortable) twin beds as well as a very spacious wardrobe, movie-themed carpet and a respectable bathroom complete with a huge walk-in shower.
Being a huge movie fanatic, I truly adored the cinema concept of the hotel; it wasn’t tacky at all but incredibly elegant and sophisticated.
After a quick change into more appropriate clothes for the “red carpet”, we headed back downstairs to meet many more guests who had arrived for the event.
The event itself was held just in the hotel lobby – where breakfast is usually served – and there was ample room for the 50 or so guests at the opening. It was so wonderful to meet many people, both in the hotel and hospitality industry, as well as various influencers who had been invited to cover the event.
Champagne, prosecco and various cocktails were making their rounds as well as numerous canapé dishes that were truly delicious – our favourite offering was definitely the cheese and mushroom tartlet; I think we must have eaten at least a dozen!
The hotel staff really couldn’t have been more accommodating or attentive, and the general manager (pictured above) made a tremendous effort to talk to every single guest which was a great and unique touch.
A red carpet setup was also present in the hotel lobby, accompanied by an ibis Styles photo backdrop that was used to capture pictures of the many guests by a professional photographer. The DJ decks were also set up near the entrance of the hotel to entertain guests well into the evening which was a great touch as it made for a much more relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Myself and my mum spent a fair bit of time outside the hotel in the beautiful seating area located right next to the lobby doors, drinking copious amounts of prosecco and indulging in the various nibbles that members of staff were kind enough to bring out to us.
I really couldn’t have been happier with the ibis Styles London Ealing hotel opening; it gave me the chance to attend my first event of this sort and it was made so much better by the fact that I was able to bring my mum along with me.
A huge thanks goes out to all the staff at the ibis Styles London Ealing branch, and to Christalena from Mr. Highline who invited us along to the event; we had such an amazing time!
