A Mother’s Day Letter To My Mum

Ways To Spoil Your Mum This Mother's Day

My mum is hands down my favourite person in the world; she’s my best friend, my confidant and someone who makes me laugh uncontrollably.

If you’ve been a reader of this little blog for quite a while now, you may have seen last year’s Father’s Day letter to my dad, and so this year I wanted to produce one for my mum as well.

Today’s post is gonna get pretty soppy and emotional but please bare with me because my mum is literally an angel and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.

mother's day letter

Dear mum,

Thank you for looking after me and supporting me when it was just us two.

Thank you for meeting dad and marrying him and bringing him into our lives.

Thank you for giving me the best (albeit most annoying) siblings I could have ever wished for.

Thank you for teaching me how to spell.

Thank you for always being there when I needed you.

Thank you for always driving me to wherever I needed to be.

Thank you for being so strong and loving when Nannan died.

Thank you for always listening to me and giving me the best advice possible.

Thank you for organising all my birthday parties and for inviting all my favourite people.

Thank you for being strong, brave and courageous at everything you do.

Thank you for teaching me not to be afraid of change.

Thank you for showing me a sense of adventure.

Thank you for providing me with so many laughs.

Thank you for taking me to New York multiple times and helping to make my dreams come true.

Thank you for loving dad so much and being a constant source of relationship inspiration to me.

Thank you for always getting the lyrics wrong to certain songs and making me cry with laughter.

Thank you for telling me all the wonderful stories about your life.

Thank you for never making me feel alone.

Thank you for singing Meatloaf duets with me.

Thank you for allowing me to binge watch Friends whenever I wanted to.

Thank you for always looking after me when I was ill.

Thank you for always giving me everything I need and making sure I never went without anything.

Thank you for always feeding me (even though your cooking is terrible!).

Thank you for always buying me the most incredible Christmas presents.

Thank you for supporting my blog and always reading and sharing my posts.

Thank you for giving me so many of your amazing qualities.

Thank you for making me be a much better person.

Thank you for teaching me how to love the skin I’m in.

Thank you for always encouraging me to chase my dreams.

Thank you for welcoming Matt into our family and for getting along so well with him.

Thank you for always having dogs in our house and for showing me what it’s like to love a pet.

Thank you for always treating me and for sharing my love of makeup.

Thank you for looking after Poppy when we go away.

Thank you for all the private jokes we have together and for making me laugh whenever you quote a film (Dude, where’s my car!).

Thank you for always loving, supporting and caring for me.

Thank you for being the best mum I could have ever wished for.

Happy Mother’s Day, mum. I love you.

Aww Chloe this was simply heartwarming! How much you adore your Mum pours through every word you’ve written! She sounds like an amazing woman who has had such a big impact on your life and taught you so much! My Mum is exactly the same, I don’t know where I’d be without her today! The fact that your Mum and Dad are your ultimate relationship goals is just lovely, and it’s great to hear that they’ve welcomed Matt into your family with open arms too! You sound like a very close knit family!
