For Christmas last year, Matt bought me a trip to Paris and we’re finally heading there next week.
I’m so incredibly excited as I’ve always wanted to properly explore the world-renowned city. I’ve been briefly before when I was really young but I don’t remember it at all so I can’t wait to eat all the food, take so many beautiful pictures and have the most magical weekend with Matt.
As Paris is the city of love and romance, I want my makeup to try and reflect that. Here’s the makeup I’ll be taking with me to Paris.
For my base, I’ll obviously be using my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow as I’m totally and utterly in love with this primer. It provides my skin with the most heavenly glow and I love how dewy it makes my skin look, without looking too shiny. I’ve actually only got a sample size of this but it’s lasting me ages so I’m very impressed.
I’ve been struggling to find a foundation that I truly love for the last few months and I’m still not 100% convinced that I’ve found the one, but this L’Oreal Paris Infallible offering seems to be serving me pretty well. It’s not quite as much coverage as I would like but it does last remarkably well on my skin and its sits exremely well on top of my CT Wonderglow.
For my concealer I’ve been using the highly coveted Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define and this baby is definitely coming on holiday with me because I’m smitten. There’s been so much hype around this concealer for the last few months and I’m always pretty sceptical when it comes to trying new things out, especially if I’ve got something good going with other products, but when my bae Debra wrote an incredible review about it, I knew I had to have it in my life. It certainly hasn’t disappointed either; it’s the most gorgeous, creamy consistency with impeccable coverage and minimum creasing. I am in love.
As we’re only going for a couple of days, I didn’t really want to bring my usual go-to blush and bronzer palette so I’m opting for a miniature version of the Rockateur blush from Benefit instead. I love how diverse this product is as it can be used as either a blush, bronzer or both. It’s such a beautifully subtle colour but it provides my skin with just the right amount of ‘wow’ without being too much.
My highlighter of choice for Paris is definitely going to be my MAC snowball highlighter which I believe is now sold out. This has been my go-to highlighter for the last few months as it’s so incredibly beautiful. It gives a subtle, iridescent glow without being too in your face and it’s so bloody dreamy to look at in its packaging.
I’ve been using the Rimmel London Brow This Way eyebrow kit and even though I think the shades are a tad bit light for my eyebrows, I’m still thoroughly impressed with this product. The wax side of the duo is perfect for shaping and defining my eyebrows and then the powder side fills in any areas where there’s sparse hairs.
My favourite makeup item at the moment is without a doubt the Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette as I’ve been using it almost every single day for the past few months. I literally can’t believe just how incredible the pigmentation is on some of the shades and the wearability is just insane. The shades are all stunning and there isn’t a single one that I wouldn’t use.
I’ve spoken about my love for the Marc Jacobs mascara before and it’s certainly a love affair that doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon as it’s still the only mascara that I’ve been using every single day without fail. I can’t believe how long this makes my eyelashes look, and the jet black colour really makes my eyes stand out.
My favourite lip products at the moment are my beloved MAC lipstick in ‘Craving’ and any offering from Charlotte Tilbury. I know we’re only going to Paris for a few days but I think I’ll take a few options with me because a gal can never have too many lipsticks, right?
