So unless you’ve really been trying to avoid me on the internet (which tbh, I probably wouldn’t blame you, I haven’t been the most fun lol) you’ll know that just over a week ago I had my tonsils removed.
It’s been an incredibly long time coming – as in two years of tonsilitis long time – so when they were finally extracted from my throat I was unbelievably happy. However, the pain that I’ve been in for the last week or so has been literally unbearable. I’ve slept a remarkable amount (which hasn’t been the worst tbh) and I’ve watched so many episodes of Friends and New Girl that I could literally recite the entire script of every single series. I’ve also been in so much pain and I can’t even begin to tell you how much having your tonsils removed hurts.
In order to aid my recovery I’ve been using a number of things, (alongside the copious amount of painkillers that I was supplied with) including these Get More Vitamin A* drinks and multivitamin gum*. Here’s how I’ve been getting on for the past few weeks.
The Get More Vitamin A drinks have been an actual godsend over the past few weeks in aiding my recovery. I’ve had very little energy and due to my lack of appetite, I’ve been really struggling to get the proper vitamins I need. The delicious sparkling blackcurrant and blueberry drinks not only taste uh-mazing but they also have incredible health benefits too.
They’re full of antioxidants which help to maintain healthy hair, skin and nails. I’ve made very little effort with my appearance in these last few weeks simply because I’ve barely moved from the sofa or my bed but I recognise the importance of still looking after myself. The Get More drinks have ensured that my hair and skin haven’t been looking too lacklustre, ensuring that when I’m fully recovered I don’t look like an exact replica of the Grinch.
With less than 10 calories per bottle, they’re also the perfect drink to enjoy without worrying about piling on the pounds. Sparkling water isn’t something I’d usually opt for but the delicious flavour of these drinks has changed my mind and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed indulging in one of these when I’ve needed a little pick me up.
I was also lucky enough to receive two packets of the Get More Multivitamin gum which has been perfect for me considering I really struggled to eat in the first few days after my operation. These allowed me to enjoy chewing something without having to suffer the pain of swallowing. The minty fresh taste has also been fab in helping my breath to stay fresh (having your tonsils removed really doesn’t leave you with the nicest taste in your mouth… sorry for tmi!). I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that the gum contains 25% of your daily dose of 10 vitamins which has been great for me as I’ve been seriously lacking the sufficient nutrients I’ve needed.
I’m so impressed with the Get More Vitamins drinks and I’ll certainly be picking up more bottles in the future; they have a range of Vitamin drinks available in a variety of flavours – I’ve definitely got my eye on the Vitamin C sparkling orange drink next!
