Today’s post is the second installment of my Valentine’s Day posts and I’m so excited for you guys to read this one! For me, Valentine’s Day is an occasion that should be celebrated regardless of your relationship status as it’s a day to celebrate love and happiness with those in your life.
While the romantic occasion certainly isn’t just about giving and receiving presents, it’s always nice to be treated to something special, especially if it’s something that you’ve had your eye on for a little while.
Matt is actually remarkably amazing at buying gifts and experiences that he knows I’ll love (hello, trip to Paris as my Christmas present!!!) but I know there’s a few people out there who may not be the best at purchasing gifts for their loved ones so I really hope this post helps! I’ve tried my best to put together a gift guide for all those people who are struggling to find gifts for their partners this year, so here the things that your girlfriend actually wants for Valentine’s Day.
A classic gift to give to someone on pretty much any occasion of the year is a box of chocolates and some flowers. While these may be considered to be conventionally stereotypical gifts, they’re still so lovely to receive. Prestige Flowers* are a brand that get it absolutely right when it comes to special occasions such as Valentine’s Day.
Their bouquets are absolutely stunning and their red roses were an absolute delight to receive. Accompanied by a delicious box of chocolates and an adorable teddy, Prestige Flowers are certainly a brand to look to when looking for gifts for the woman in your life.
Flowers may be the most popular and common gift to send/receive on Valentine’s Day but that doesn’t mean that a lot of thought and consideration can go into them. A dozen red roses are the traditional romantic notion and they’re actually my favourite flowers; Matt bought me a bunch when we’d only been together a few weeks and I think little thoughtful occasions like that are incredibly important to remember, as well as occasions like Valentine’s Day.
Another gift that I’m sure all girlfriends would love is a lovely personalised T-Shirt. Printsome have some fabulous wholesale T-shirt printing* options available to treat yo’ girlfriend with.
If you’re anything like me then you’re sure to enjoy a pretty drink (or four) and since I’ve discovered a new-found love for gin, I know exactly what I’d love to receive this Valentine’s Day…
I was never a big fan of gin until I recently attended an event with The Botanist but now I’m pretty obsessed with pink gin. When it’s accompanied by pink lemonade, it is literally heavenly and I can’t wait to have a drink or two with Matt on the 14th of February.
I really don’t think you need an excuse to buy any new makeup or skincare but it’s always nice to receive new products on special occasions such as Valentine’s Day. A new bottle of perfume, a sexy new eyeshadow palette or a sumptuous new lipstick are all perfect gifts for your girlfriend and if she’s anything like me, she’s sure to appreciate literally anything you buy.
You all know by now just how incredibly nostalgic and sentimental I am so when I was given the opportunity to work with Printiki* again on a Valentine’s Day collaboration, I was delighted. I ordered a number of the square prints and then collated them into my own love heart shape (at least it was supposed to be a love heart, I’n not very visually creative…). These pictures are from the last year or so and they make my heart so incredibly happy; we’ve done some amazing things together in this last year alone and I love how Printiki has allowed me to preserve these memories forever.
The lovely people at You Said It* sent me one of these crude (but genuinely hilarious) cards over for Valentine’s Day and I absolutely love it. They have such an incredibly vast range of cards, all designed to offend and entertain the recipient. I spend absolutely ages browsing the website and it was so difficult to choose the perfect card as there’s such an awesome array of cards; I think I managed to choose one that wasn’t too offensive!
I’m also a big believer in the fact that you don’t have to spend lavish amounts of money to show someone you love them and there are an abundance of ways to show your love without breaking the bank.
