Travelling is by far one of my absolute favourite things to do; exploring new cities, discovering new cultures and trying out a plethora of new foods all make me incredibly happy.
I’ve been extremely fortunate enough over the last few years to travel to many amazing places but there’s still an abundance of places that are on my bucket list.
Europe is a place that’s extremely popular with millions of tourists every single year and with so many gorgeous places to see and with a copious amount of things to do in every country, it’s no wonder that my ultimate European travel wishlist is pretty long…
Slovenia – Lake Bled
Slovenia has been on my travel bucket list ever since Matt showed me pictures from when he visited a few years ago. It looks absolutely stunning and I’m desperate to visit Lake Bled as it looks so beautiful and picturesque and romantic. It’s definitely somewhere that I think Matt and I will head to in a few years.
Croatia – Dubrovnik
Yet another place that I’m dying to visit due to Matt’s recommendation is Croatia. It was also where a number of scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed and it looks so lovely. Dubrovnik is definitely a place in Croatia that I’d like to visit, simply for its gorgeous architecture, lush blue oceans and quaint little villages.
Sweden – Stockholm
I never really thought about visiting Sweden until fairly recently but I noticed a number of peeople were visiting Stockholm over on Instagram so I added it straight to my European travel wishlist. There’s an abundance of colourful buildings as well as some beautiful churches to admire and I’d love to spend a long weekend exploring everything that it has to offer.
Denmark – Copenhagen
Copenhagen in Denmark has become an increasingly popular tourist place over the last number of years and it’s clear to see why; it’s known for its colourful architecture, stunning castles and palaces. City breaks are my favourite type of holiday and I truly think Copenhagen would be a brilliant place to spend a few days in the summer, and a definite European travel wishlist contender!
Despite not being the biggest fan of summer and the hot weather, after spending a week in Mallorca last year, I think I sort of changed my mind a little. Having said that, Greece has been a place that’s been on my travel bucket list for many years now. The likes of Mykonos and Santorini are both places that look unbelievably stunning and I’d love to spend our summer holiday in either place one year.
Iceland – Reykjavik
I also think that Iceland has become an increasingly popular touristy place over the last few years, and I think that’s largely due to the beauty that Reykjavik has to offer. I’ve seen so many people visiting Iceland over the last year or so and it’s safe to say that it’s made its way firmly to the top of my European travel wishlist. While it may be an incredibly expensive place to visit, I also think it’s a place that you’d certainly never forget and I really hope Matt and I can book a trip there fairly soon.
Czech Republic – Prague
Prague is a place in the Czech Republic that’s also incredibly popular for city weekend breaks. It’s known for its stunning buildings and picturesque scenery and it’s certainly somewhere that I’d love to visit. While I’ve never actually been, from what I’ve seen of pictures, it reminds me somewhat of Budapest and I’m sure you’ll all know by know that Budapest is one of my favourite places in the world so I’m sure I’d love Prague.
Italy – Amalfi Coast
I’ve actually been fortunate to have visited Italy already when we spent a few days in Venice and Rome but I’d also love to head back there and spend some time in the Amalfi Coast. It looks beyond stunning and like it’s come straight from a movie so I know I’d love mooching around the little shops while admiring the breathtaking views of the sea.
I’ve also been lucky enough to visit Spain on a number of occasions but I’ve never actually visited any of the major cities in Spain. Barcelona is high at the top of my wishlist, along with Madrid as there’s so much to see and do in both cities. I love the combination of the beautiful weather along with the idyllic backdrops of the stunning architecture.
There’s some gorgeous places to visit in Switzerland so I’m not actually sure exactly where I’d like to visit. I’d definitely want to admire the stunning snow-capped mountains as well as the lush greenness of the country. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we can visit the idyllic country.
Have you ever been to any of the places on my European travel wishlist? Where would you most like to visit? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @imjustagirl_16.
