New Year’s Eve is always one of my favourite nights of the year and I’m even more excited for it this year as Matt and I will be spending it in Amsterdam ! I always love working really hard on my makeup on NYE and I endeavour to make it as glamorous and as sparkly as possible so I wanted to share some of my favourite festive picks that I’ll be wearing as the clock strikes midnight!
There’s some of my everyday essentials featured here but there’s also some new additions that I like to use when the party season arrives.
For my base I always opt for my trusty Benefit Porefessional primer as it’s perfect for smoothing out any imperfections I have while completely blurring my pores. It’s silky smooth and literally the tiniest bit goes such a long way.
Once my primer has fully absorbed into my skin I then take my beloved Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation as it’s amazing for achieving a truly flawless look. I’ve had this bottle for ages now so I definitely need to pick up a new one soon. I love how long-lasting this foundation is and even though I don’t wear it every day, it’s definitely one that I turn to when I need that extra bit of coverage.
The concealer that I’m absolutely loving at the moment is one from Younique as it’s literally amazing at covering all my blemishes, scars and hideous dark circles. I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough!
For my eyes I literally love as much sparkle as possible and the palette that I like to use is one from Front Cover, I’m pretty sure this particular palette was discontinued a long time ago which is a huge shame but I’m so glad that I got my hands on it when I did. The sparkly eyeshadows are some of the most highly pigmented shadows I’ve ever used and I bloody adore them!
To add that extra bit of sparkle I like to use is the Regal Affair pressed pigment by MAC. It’s a beautiful shimmery shade that can be used either wet or dry and I love it so much. It’s perfect for using at this time of year as it’s so sparkly and beautiful.
I’ve never been a huge fan of fake eyelashes before but I recently picked up these ones from Eye Candy and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were pretty easy to apply and they look so lovely.
To add even more sparkle and shine to my NYE look I usually use two different highlighters; the Benefit High Beam and the Makeup Obsession Highlighter in ‘moon’. The MO highlighter is literally one of my favourite makeup products ever and it cost me the grand total of £3. Three whole pounds. If you’ve never tried one of these highlighters before then you absolutely must because it’s a life changer!
It won’t come as a surprise to most of you if you’ve been a regular reader of my blog for a while now that Charlotte Tilbury is one of my all-time favourite beauty brands ever. That’s why the Matte Revolution lipstick in Red Carpet Red is a true staple of mine when it comes to completing my New Year’s Eve makeup look.
As for my New Year’s Eve outfit, I’m planning on picking something up from Quiz Clothing* as they have the perfect selection of beautiful party dresses. I’ve got my eye on this red sparkly number or this black and silver glitter party dress.
