I’m sure you guys know by now just how much I love my skincare products and there’s a number of products in my collection that are truly essential in helping my skin to look glowing and refreshed.
Having said that, since moving in with Matt last year, my skincare routine wouldn’t be complete without including him in it and I love our little night time routine that we have together where we indulge in a face mask or two.
I truly believe that skincare products aren’t just for women to enjoy and so when Yes to* got in touch with me about their latest face mask releases, I was so excited to try them out (and share them with Matt, of course!).
The first mask that I was lucky enough to receive was the Yes to cucumbers calming DIY powder-to-clay mask and both Matt and I were very excited to try this out as we’re both huge fan of cucumber scents in skincare products. The mask comes equipped with its own mixing bowl and spoon which I thought was a pretty cool addition to what was already promised to be a fab mask.
The DIY process of making the mask was fairly easy, although as I’m notoriously clumsy, obviously I added a little too much water to it so it was way less viscous than I think it should have been. Having said that, the paste still applied nicely to my face and I left it on for about 20 minutes before removing it with warm water. Yet another great feature of the Yes to masks is that you can add many different ingredients to your concoction depending on the type of treatment you want to receive. Some ingredients that you can add to the mask during the mixing stage include honey, yoghurt or avocado!
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was more than enough product for both Matt and I to use on our faces – this might have been because I used too much water though!
The second face mask that we tried was the Yes to tomatoes detoxifying charcoal sleeping mask and I was more than intrigued (and a little apprehensive) to try this one out! I’ve heard of sleeping masks before but I wasn’t entirely sure about them; surely they’d just transfer straight onto your pillow?!
Having tried this little beauty out however, I can safely say that there’s no residue left on my pillow come morning time, instead I’m left with glowing, healthy-looking skin! My skin feels super soft and hydrated and it helps to clear up any pesky blemishes that might have started making their way onto my face. I also used a tiny bit of this on Matt as well but I kinda wanted to reap the benefits of this mask all to myself as there wasn’t a great deal of product left for him. For only £2.99, I really couldn’t recommend this face mask enough and I was so impressed with how amazing my skin looked after using it.
Sharing my skincare routine with Matt is something that I thoroughly enjoy and even though he could do with a few more skincare products of his own, (so that he doesn’t keep using mine!) it really is one of my favourite things to do on a night time. Whether you make time in your calendar for a designated pamper evening together or you simply indulge in luxurious skincare products every night, I really do think it’s such a lovely way to spend time with your partner.
