A Lazy Sunday Routine

Sunday routine

Sundays are the perfect time to unwind with a cup of tea, (or a glass of wine) have a good ol’ pamper and prepare for the week ahead.

My Sunday morning usually starts with the biggest lie in, usually until around half 10/11 ish, although sometimes it can be longer (no joke – Matt and I once slept in until 3.30pm, oops). Once we’ve awoken from the most heavenly sleep, we head downstairs for a delicious brunch consisting of bacon, eggs and tea, all served with an episode or two of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Sunday routine, brunch

As Sundays are purely designed to be as lazy as possible, I don’t usually bother to change out of my pyjamas, although I do *occasionally* make the effort to wash my face…

I like to try and do as much blog work on the weekend as possible, this includes everything from brainstorming ideas, taking photos, writing and scheduling posts and taking part in Twitter chats. I love spending the day writing posts on Sundays as there’s no pressure and it’s lovely to just spend an afternoon relaxing in my pyjamas and producing content that I love. I also enjoy watching the odd YouTube video or show on Netflix while I’m busy working as it’s the ultimate way to just chill out.

As the evening rolls around, we’re always greeted with a Sunday dinner by Matt’s lovely mum and it usually consists of the biggest Yorkshire pudding you’ll ever see! We often watch another episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S while we’re eating as well.

Sunday routine- sunday dinner

After succumbing to a pretty heavy food coma, the rest of the evening is pretty much a write-off so I’ll usually spend the next few hours pampering myself. First up is a long, relaxing bath accompanied by an episode of Gossip Girl and my favourite Lush bath bomb. I also love using a number of different luxurious products to make sure my skin is as silky smooth as possible.

I always shave my legs as part of my pamper routine to ensure that my skin is as fresh and clean as possible, and then I’ll head in with a body scrub. My go-to body scrub at the moment is to use Sanctuary Spa’s White Lily & Damask Rose body scrub. It smells absolutely heavenly and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft. I’m pretty sure Matt also uses it when he thinks I don’t notice…

The moisturiser I’m loving at the moment is the Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion from Vaseline. It leaves a gorgeous scent all over my body and makes my skin feel so luscious and smooth. It’s the perfect after-bath treat.

Sunday is always ‘fresh bedding night’ in our house so after my bath I’ll usually change the sheets to ensure that everything’s all fresh and lovely come bedtime.

Matt and I usually watch a few episodes of Orange is the new Black and then we head to bed, and sleep in total bliss thanks to clean sheets, freshly shaven legs and moisturised skin.

I love having lazy Sunday’s with Sam, although we did have a majority of a lazy Sunday yesterday before we headed out climbing…so we’d at least feel like we hadn’t spent all day in bed.

My lazy Sundays are often when I’m still in pyjamas post 12pm – I do try to wash my hair every Sunday so I do always have at least one thing to do, even on lazy Sundays! At the moment I’m watching Poldark so I like getting all cozy for that!

How gorgeous is your photography here, Chloe?! I’m seriously impressed! Your poached eggs look pretty darn divine as well, you can make me breakfast any day of the week hehe! White Lily and Damask Rose sounds like an incredibly nice fragrance for a body scrub – I don’t currently use one so I may well pick this up! Thanks for sharing your lazy routine!

out of all of the days in the week I get really intrigued to find out what people do on their Sundays! I really loved reading what you did as I am so nosy! A lay in is essential on a Sunday, I work which is annoying but if I didn’t I would be doing the same! it is also pretty standard to have eggs and bacon for your breakfast! loved this post!!

  13. 21st August 2017 / 10:53 am

Oh this sounds like my ideal sunday routine and I totally have these days as well! When people say to me that they always get changed out their pyjamas I’m just like…why? I mean if I’m not going anywhere there’s no chance I’m getting changed.

Also– I am the exact same with sleep ins. One time I think I slept till like 4pm and it was so bad!

God I love that. It’s 3PM on a Sunday and I’m still in bed, so that says a lot about how lazy I am!
