Skincare Essentials For A Weekend Away*

Travel Essentials For A Week In The Sun

You all know by now just how much I love a good weekend away and whether it’s a weekend away in the sun or just a night away in Leeds for example, there’s a few essentials that I like to take with me.

Skincare is probably my favourite beauty ~thing~ so it’s fair to say that I have quite a few skincare products stashed away at home, all ready to come away with me.

There’s a mixture of products here, all with different purposes and price ranges. Here’s some of my skincare essentials for a weekend away.

The Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant moisturiser is one of my absolute favourite brands of moisturiser.

Not only does it smell absolutely divine, it also thoroughly nourishes every inch of my skin. Its non-greasy formula means that it soaks in almost instantly, perfect for getting ready for a night out or soaking into your skin after a long day in the hot sun.

I’m a huge fan of Vaseline products anyway; I literally never leave the house without a little tin for my lips and as it’s a brand I’ve loved for many years now, I can really vouch for its incredible moisturising properties.

Optiat is a brand that I’ve only tried fairly recently but I already absolutely adore it. Their Hungover Coffee Scrub is honestly one of the best in-shower products I’ve ever used and I really can’t imagine my shower routine without it now.

Its potent peppermint and coffee smell is wonderfully refreshing (especially after a heavy night out, hence the name) and the little beads make my skin feel ridiculously soft.

I even got Matt and his friend to try this out and they both really loved it, so it’s definitely one for everyone; although that does mean you’ll probably have to share with your boyfriend when you go away together…

One thing that both Matt and I really don’t like is dry skin so when Flexitol* offered to send out some of their moisturing products, I couldn’t wait to see how they performed.

The Moisturising Foot Cream has been an integral part of my skincare routine for the last few weeks and it’s been an absolute godsend for my sore feet and dry legs.

Summer season is just around the corner so as I’ve been frantically shaving in order to get my legs as smooth as possible, they’ve been left feeling a little on the dry side. This foot cream from Flexitol however, has literally saved my legs and they feel so soft and lush all day long now.

Origins is definitely one of my (if not my most) favourite skincare brands ever and their Make A Difference Plus Rejuevnating Treatment is absolutely perfect for sorting out yo’ face.

I always take this with me whenever I go away anywhere because I know that I can rely on it to make my skin look something like a Greek goddess. It smells absolutely divine and it’s a true pleasure to lather all over my face.

Another product that I absolutely love from Origins is the Original Skin Retexturizing mask with Rose Clay.

This is one of my favourite face masks to use whether I’m at home or enjoying a weekend away  with bae. It’s so soft and gentle on the skin but also lightly exfoliating, meaning that all dead skin is removed while you prepare for a lush night out on the town.

I was also lucky enough to receive the Hand Balm from Flexitol* which I’ve been loving almost as much as the foot cream.

It smells delightfully fresh and while I would say it’s more suited to the winter months, it really is amazing at keeping my hands soft and luscious all the time, regardless of whether I’m using it at home or while I’m away.

The Dove Summer Glow nourishing lotion is a delicious moisturiser that offers a gradual tan with every use. It actually smells pretty lush while applying but after a few hours it absolutely stinks (although, most fake tans do, right?).

It’s still my favourite tan I’ve tried so far and while I’m not the biggest fan of the scent – I’d recommend using this a good few hours before you head out – it does provide a lovely subtle glow all over my body with a gorgeous shimmery tint.

I use the Dove Summer Glow and Vaseline too! I’m going away on a summer holiday in 3 weeks so I’ll hopefully be getting a tan there, but these will help me fake it beforehand aha! xx

Aaah the dove summer glow is a must!! The hand balm looks like it would be right up my street, I’ve never tried foot cream before to be honest but I think it’s something I should probably consider!!

If there’s one part of my body that I always neglect in my skincare routine, it’s my feet! It’s silly really because they’re such an important part of our bodies and really need the TLC! I need to invest in some Flexitol products and also splurge on a nice weekend somewhere to relax and pamper myself hehe 😉
