While I truly believe that you don’t need an excuse to absolutely spoil your mum rotten, Mother’s Day does allow us to purchase the gifts for our mums that we might sometimes otherwise overlook.
My mum is my absolute best friend and I can 100% say that I wouldn’t be where I am today without her and as a thank you to everything she’s done for me over the last few years, I want to make sure the gifts I buy her reflect that.
You definitely don’t have to spend a fortune on gifts for your mum; sometimes a simple card is the best way to show your love and appreciation. But I wanted to put together a post of all my favourite gift ideas that are on the luxury end of the spectrum, in case you really wanted to go all out and completely spoil your mum.
Treat your mum to her favourite sweets with Treats Direct*
My mum and I are so incredibly similar that we could almost pass as the same person and just one of the many things we have in common is our love of sweets. I remember when I was really young, we used to get little bags of sweets from our local shop including delicacies such as cola cubes, pink and blue bottles and cherry lips.
When Treats Direct* kindly offered to send over some of their sweet boxes, I was incredibly excited and I knew my mum would be too. The whole process of ordering your sweets from Treats Direct is incredibly easy; you simply sign up from as little as £2.49 and then the excellent team behind Treats hand-packs a random box of sweets for you. The boxes are small and compact and can be easily delivered straight to your front door. I was so impressed with the selection of sweets included in the boxes and despite the fact that you can’t currently chose the contents of your box, I still loved every sweet that was included in the boxes.
The adorable packaging of the boxes was also incredibly cute and I love how there’s different designs available. I can’t wait to give a box of these to my mum on Mother’s Day; I just know she’s going to love them!
Invest in some of her favourite luxury products
Mother’s Day is the perfect time of year to replenish your mum’s collection of fragrances as it’s been a good few months since Christmas and it’s probably about time to replace those empty perfume bottles.
One of the most luxury brands to treat your mum to is Jo Malone. Whether it’s a new candle or one of the heavenly perfume fragrances that they offer; Jo Malone is the perfect luxury brand to invest in for your mum.
Another one of my favourite luxury brands at the moment is Marc Jacobs after I finally received my first Daisy Dream perfume for Christmas. This perfume is something that I’m sure any mum would love to receive for Mother’s Day as it’s sophisticated, deliciously fruity and it has incredible lasting power.
Get your mum something personal
I’m such a sucker for anything personalised, whether it’s a keyring, a mug or even a t-shirt so when The Little Picture Company* got in touch with me, I was incredibly excited to see everything that they had to offer.
The selection of unique and bespoke products is truly amazing and there’s so many different things to choose from. I opted for the Personalised Relaxation Kit* and I was so impressed with the contents, as well as the adorable design of the tin. The Relaxation Kit contains rose petal soap, a beautiful candle and a macaron bath bomb. As soon as I opened the tin, I was greeted with the most heavenly, fresh smell and I was already so excited to try out the contents. Every single product smelled absolutely delightful and so incredibly fresh. The candle was encased in the cutest little tin and I think I was most excited for the macaron bath bomb as they’re some of my favourite treats!
I also picked up this gorgeous Personalised Marble Monochrome phone case* which came in the most beautiful and vibrant teal colour. I think personalised phone cases are such a great gift for anyone in your life, especially for Mother’s Day if your mum is particularly prone to dropping her phone.
Take your mum out for afternoon tea
Another one of mine and my mum’s favourite thing to do together is indulging in a spot of afternoon tea. There’s plenty of adorable places in and around York (where we live) to visit for afternoon tea, with some of my favourites being Bettys, Patisserie Valerie and Tealicious. It’s always been one of my dreams to own my own afternoon tea shop when I’m retired so I think the more places I visit with my mum, the more inspiration I’ll acquire!
