Travelling is without a doubt one of my absolute favourite things to do in the world and it makes me so unbelievably happy. When it comes to the ultimate list of trips you need to take with your partner, I feel like Matt and I have pretty much got it nailed; especially with us now currently travelling around the world together!
Travelling with Matt makes me approximately ten times happier. Getting to explore new places with my best friend is a feeling that really can’t be described and we’ve been extremely lucky to visit a plethora of places together already.
There is obviously an abundance of places that you can visit all around the world and infinite possibilities of things to see and do, and today’s post is all about my recommendations of the trips you need to take with your partner.
The best trips you need to take with your partner
Belize
Belize is an idyllic country in Central America that looks beyond dreamy for any young couple to spend a week or two in. There are some incredible places to stay and I adore the look of the variety of Belize vacation rentals, I just need to convince Matt that we need to go to Belize now! I mean, it literally looks like the most picturesque place ever and I’m already dreaming of laying on a perfect beach sipping something delicious.
There are so many things to see and do in Belize and I totally haven’t already got an itinerary of things to do already… I’ve already got my eye on Ambergris Caye, Xunantunich and the Belize Barrier Reef. The whole place looks like something out of a tropical movie; I’m getting serious Moana vibes just from Google Images alone!
Mallorca – trips you need to take with your partner
I’ve spoken about Mallorca a good few times on my blog already but I genuinely believe it’s a place that all young couples should visit. The gorgeous beaches, the cheap cocktails and the thrilling nightlife make it the perfect holiday destination for young couples and I’m already desperate to head back there.
The Palma Hop-on Hop-off bus tour can be an incredibly romantic activity to do in Mallorca and is also a great way of seeing the city.
It’s just a versatile place to visit that’s ideal for almost everyone; families with young children, couples, singles and solo travellers can enjoy the delights of Mallorca. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to head back there again with Matt for a summer holiday.
Amsterdam
I’m sure you’ll all know by now (especially if you follow me on Instagram) that Matt and I spent the New Year in Amsterdam and it was absolutely fabulous! It’s not the cheapest place we’ve ever visited but it certainly was an adventure and I can 100% recommend visiting ‘dam if you’re looking for a weekend break.
The sweet treats were so decadent and luxurious, the ~vibes~ are cool, quirky and yet familiar and everyone you meet is exceptionally friendly. You’d probably only need to spend a couple of days in Amsterdam but that’s more than enough to get a feel as a couple of what this cycle-crazy metropolis has to offer!
From the Van Gogh Museum to a romantic evening canal cruise, Amsterdam is one of the romantic trips you need to take with your partner!
Budapest – trips you need to take with your partner
Budapest is one of my favourite places that I have ever been to and I would hop back on a plane there in a heartbeat. The stunning architecture, the cool, hipster vibes and the delicious delicacies make Budapest a fab place to visit with your partner.
The city is also renowned for its magnificent thermal spas such as Szechenyi Spa, as well as the beautiful Hungarian Parliament building; perfect for relaxing, lounging and exploring!
Barcelona
Another place that you need to add to your list of trips you need to take with your partner is Barcelona; a place that is high up on my travel bucket list as I’ve heard countless things about the city. It’s the perfect combination of city and beaches and it looks absolutely lush. I really hope that Matt and I can head there at some point this year.
The Sagrada Familia and Park Güell are both places that simply ooze romance!
Paris
Potentially one of the most romantic cities in the world, Paris certainly is the ultimate destination for young couples. Known for its exquisite cuisine, its wonderful architecture and many museums, Paris is undoubtedly one of the best trips you need to take with your partner.
Thailand – trips you need to take with your partner
Thailand is a fantastic place for couples to visit, especially if you’re the backpacker-types who love adventures such as snorkelling, surfing and late-night Full Moon parties!
Matt and I had so much fun during our one month in Thailand and I’d highly recommend it to other couples looking for some holiday inspiration.
Maldives
The Maldives are literally the real-life answer to paradise and I’m absolutely desperate to go there with Matt. Everything about it seems so magical and romantic and even though I nearly always prefer a city break to a beach holiday, I’m sure I could just about manage the struggle of relaxing on the stunning beaches, cocktail in hand while getting a massage.
New York
I couldn’t not include my favourite place in the world in this list; there’s a reason why NYC is such a highly sought-after destination. My favourite city has a ridiculous amount of things to see and do for everyone regardless of age, but it’s certainly a place that I’d recommend visiting with your other half. Matt and I went to New York on our first ever holiday after only being together for three months and it really couldn’t have been more perfect.
We also lived there for one month at the start of 2022 and it was undoubtedly one of the best months of my life!
From watching the sunset at the Top of the Rock (literally my favourite place in the entire world), sailing around the Statue of Liberty or heading up to the top of the One World Observatory, New York City definitely needs to be on your list of trips you need to take with your partner!
Whether you spend one day, one week or even one month in New York City, you’re sure to have an incredible time with your partner!
