22 Things To Do When You’re Bored

22 Things To Do When You're Bored

My mum always says “only boring people get bored” and while I do think that’s true, I also think that there’s the odd occasion where you may feel like there’s not a lot to do and you’re basically left twiddling your thumbs.

Even though everyone has a hell of a lot of ‘adult’ responsibilities to do on a daily basis, there’s still times where we all get a little bored, especially during the winter months when there’s not an awful lot to do.

I’ve compiled a list of things to do when you’re bored.

22 Things To Do When You're Bored

  1. Read a book – make a start on your ‘to be read’ pile.
  2. Go for a long walk and take your camera with you to capture some gorgeous nature shots.
  3. Bake something yummy – cookies or brownies are always a fab idea.
  4. Binge watch something awesome on Netflix – you know that I’ll always recommend Friends ;).
  5. Take a nap.
  6. Go out for food with your friends.
  7. Take blog pictures for the week ahead.
  8. Meet your parents for a delicious pub lunch.
  9. Take a long, hot bath and have a pamper.
  10. Play some old school games such as Monopoly (I’ve also been playing Mario Kart on the Wii at my family’s recently).
  11. Spend the afternoon colouring in.
  12. Paint your nails.
  13. Get creative and make a scrapbook.
  14. Re-watch the Harry Potter movies.
  15. Complete a jigsaw.
  16. Finally get around to doing a Pinterest DIY.
  17. Take part in a Twitter chat.
  18. Meet one of your oldest friends for coffee.
  19. Spend some quality time working on your blog.
  20. Start that book you’ve always been meaning to write.
  21. Do some online shopping.
  22. Make a den and have an indoor picnic.

I must be super boring then as I get bored A LOT haha! However taking a nap sounds like a fab thing to do! Forgot what sleep feels like lol! Nah joking aside I tend to either play with makeup, paint my nails or start planning blog content when my children go to bed as that’s when I’m most bored.

Making a den and having an indoor picnic is such a good idea! My boyfriend and I planned to go on a picnic at some point last summer but thanks to the typical British weather, that didn’t work out! Instead, we set up all of our food on a blanket on the floor in the living room and still had a wonderful time!

I definitely agree about picking up a book when you’re twiddling your thumbs as well, I have just finished a new book after not reading for a good few weeks and I have definitely fallen back in love with reading again, I can’t wait to start my next book!

Indoor picnics can often be just as fun! I hope the British summer is better this year though so we can enjoy a few outdoor picnics too! Xx

I really love this idea, sometimes I don’t even get in a ‘bored’ mood I just can’t make my mind up what I would like to spend my time doing and sometimes I need a list like this so I can choose something- lol! I always forget I have so many books to read or things to colour in that it doesn’t immediately spring to mind but as soon as it does I love doing them!

I legit can’t remember the last time I had a day off! When I have a spare hour or so, I just binge watch TV and catch up on sleep! I’ve been reading a little more lately too!

I ‘try’ and do something productive when I’m bored – lately I’ve been trying to get into the habit of watching a TedX talk everyday..instead of watching an hour of what I eat in a day videos haha! x
