So I may just be a *tad* late to the party with this post, but better late than never, right?!
I’ve been spending the last few days indulging in SO many bloggers’ New Year posts and I’m now feeling more inspired than ever, which is why I’ve put together my very own goals post today.
The start of a new year is always a time that I adore because everyone’s feeling so determined and motivated and there’s so much positive energy. As I said in my ‘2017 Highlights‘ post, 2017 really was the most amazing year for me and I’m determined to make 2018 just as good. Here are all the things that I’d like to achieve this year.
Become much more confident in front of the camera
As much as I love taking flatlays and working on different arrangements so that I can make my images look as good as possible, I’m really determined to be much more confident in front of the camera this year. You’ll very rarely see “candid” photos of me on here or on my Instagram and that’s definitely something that I want to change this year. Some of my favourite bloggers have got their look nailed when it comes to being in front of the camera and it makes me want to dress up in something super cute and pose in front of the camera to capture that perfect shot!
Visit at least five new cities
Last year was an incredible year for travelling and even though Matt and I are planning an around the world trip next year, I’d still really love to visit some new places this year. Whether it’s just a new city in the UK or somewhere a bit further afield, I’m really excited to visit new places.
Enjoy experimenting with new and old products
I have so much makeup in my collection that it’s almost ridiculous so this year I’m determined to cut down on my spending on new products and instead focus on using up the ones that I already have in my collection. Having said that, if there’s something new that I’m desperate to try then I’m not going to deprive myself; we all deserve a little treat every now and then…
Just before Christmas I was lucky enough to receive a number of new perfumes from Parfen* and omfg they are all absolutely divine. Perfume has always been one of my favourite parts of my beauty routine, so I was incredibly excited to try these out.
This perfume reminds me of a beautiful sunny, summer’s day as it’s so fresh and fruity. With delightful scents of lemon and apple, it’s a perfume that only needs a couple of spritzes to leave you smelling delicious. The floral and fruity smell reminds me of being in a sunny country surrounded by gorgeous blue seas and the blazing sun. I think this is actually my favourite perfume that I received.
A heady combination of lemons, mint and peonies, 562 is a perfume that can be worn at anytime of the year but it’s an ideal scent for a spring or summer’s day. It’s light, refreshing and delicious without being too overpowering.
Jasmine & Lily is a more musky scent, complimented by notes of orange and jasmine. I think this perfume is more suited to an evening as it’s incredibly elegant and sophisticated; it smells beautiful and it makes me feel very ‘grown up’.
Work on my health and fitness a lot more
For anyone who knows me, you’ll know that I’m notoriously bad at exercising and eating healthy; I just love pizza too much. This year however, I’d really like to up my fitness levels a lot more. Even if it’s simply just going for a quick walk around the village, I’d really love to try and get out more.
Attend more blogging events and work with some of my favourite brands
2017 was incredible for me as I got to attend a fair few blogging events which allowed me to meet lots of new people. This year I’d like to attend even more, starting with the #BlogAtTheBeach event next weekend. I’d also love the opportunity to work with even more incredible brands this year; ones that I truly admire and love.
Building an ‘I’m Just A Girl’ community
A large part of my blog name stems from the idea of being ‘a girl’ so I’d love to implement this idea even further on my blog and social channels. I want to be able to interact with more people even more on all different platforms and possibly even at events. I’d love for you guys to become even more involved with this little old blog and I can’t wait to see what this year brings us.
