Things To Be Thankful For

It’s Thanksgiving today and while it’s predominantly an American holiday, it got me thinking about all the things that I’m grateful for.

There’s been lots of exciting things that have been happening in my life recently and being the sentimental, soppy shite that I am, I wanted to put together a list of all the things that have left me feeling extremely thankful and grateful.

I’m sure it won’t come as a surprise to you if you’ve been around these parts before just how much Matt means to me. We’ve known each for almost six years, we’ve been best friends for what seems like forever, we’ve been together over a year and a half and we’ve lived together for over a year now. And yet I still I feel immensely thankful to have that boy in my life every single day. He’s a constant source of happiness to me, he’s so supportive and he’s obvs bloody gorgeous ;). I cannot imagine my life without him <3.

My parents

My mum and dad are two of the most incredible people in the entire world. I absolutely wouldn’t be where I am today without their encouragement and support and I’m ever so thankful that they’re my parents.

Italian food

If you watch my Instagram stories, I’m sure it won’t have escaped your notice just how much I bloody love Italian food. I’ve always loved tucking into delicious pasta dishes and yummy pizza but since my trip to Venice earlier this year I definitely have an intensified love for all things Italian. I’m incredibly grateful that all those delicious carbs exist.

Travelling, in my opinion, is one of the most incredible things that you can do in life and I fully intend to travel to as many different places as possible during my lifetime. Just this year alone I’ve been to Budapest, Venice, Rome, Ireland and Mallorca and Matt and I are heading off to Amsterdam for New Year’s Eve and I cannot wait. Visiting new places and experiencing different cultures really is one of my favourite things ever and every travel opportunity I get I’m immensely thankful for.

My blog and all the opportunities I’ve had because of it is without a doubt one of the greatest parts of my life. I can’t begin to tell you how amazing this past year has been in terms of blogging. I’ve had so many unbelievably fantastic opportunities and experiences and I’ve worked so incredibly hard on everything. The people that I’ve met due to this wonderful community are also unreal and I genuinely couldn’t be more thankful for everything that blogging has brought into my life.

Pretty makeup

I’ve always been a huge lover of gorgeous lipsticks and pretty eyeshadow palettes but since becoming more involved in the blogging community, my passion for prettiness has grown even more. I’ve never been a confident person at all and even though I don’t use makeup to cover myself up, I definitely do think it can be used to enhance your features. All of the wonderful brands that I’ve used over the years are definitely something that I’m grateful for – a special mention goes out to Charlotte Tilbury, Benefit, No7 and Urban Decay.

Great friends

I’ve been extremely lucky over the years to meet some amazing people over the years and there’s some people who I am ever so grateful to have in my life. It’s incredible that just in the last year alone I have made some amazing friends who are genuinely friends for life. It’s so enriching to have a fab group of girls around me and our daily WhatsApp conversations literally help keep me sane.

Excellent TV shows

I’ve made it pretty obvious on these parts of the internet just how much I love watching a good TV show and after finishing watching Stranger Things last week, I’ve come to realise just how much I love a good series. They’re an excellent source of escapism for me and they’re perfect for curling up with on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon.

A good pamper evening

One of the best ways to enjoy taking some time out for self care is to indulge in a deliciously relaxing pamper evening. A hot bath, some yummy snacks, a hydrating face mask followed by a long nap is one of my absolute favourite things to do.

I had to finish this post with one of the most exciting events of the year: CHRISTMAS! It’s only a few weeks away now and even though I’ve barely made a start on my Christmas shopping, I’ve been well and truly in the festive spirit for a number of weeks now and as soon as the 1st of December hits I’m sure I’ll descend into full Elf mode!
