10 Things That Have Made Me Happy Recently (#2)

The past few weeks have been so busy for me, both personally and at work but they’ve been amazing nonetheless. I’ve had some very exciting opportunities arise and I’m so eager to begin working on them; in order to celebrate a fab few weeks I thought I’d put together another ‘happy things’ post to share with you all.

1. Spending time with Matt at the seaside

When we got back from holiday, Matt had to spend two weeks in London on a course so I spent that time having a lot of time to myself to relax and unwind. However, when he got home we decided to have a night away in Filey so we could spend some quality time together. We spent the day and night eating fish and chips, drinking wine and chatting; it was lush.

2. Dinner with my grandma at Luigis

Every month my grandma and I head out to a lovely restaurant to have a big catch up and enjoy some delicious food. In September, we headed to Luigis which is a local Italian restaurant. We ate delicious garlic bread, yummy pasta and the biggest bowl of fries ever; it was SO good.

3. Lots of cuddles with a poorly Poppy

A couple of weeks ago, Poppy had an operation so that she could no longer have kittens and she spent the following few days feeling very sorry for herself. This meant that she was in an extremely cuddly mood which was perfect for me because it meant that I got lots of adorable snuggles with her.

4. A night out in Sheffield

A few weeks ago, I drove over to Sheffield straight from work for a night of gossiping, drinking and dancing with one of my friends from school who I hadn’t seen in over a year. It was so lovely to catch up and enjoy a night of chatting and singing to some of the most cheesiest songs; I can’t wait to go back over and do it all over again.

5. Catching up with my grandparents

The day after I stayed in Sheffield, I drove over to Doncaster to see my grandparents who I hadn’t seen in a while. It was so lovely to see them and catch up with them and I definitely need to make sure I head over there more often.

6. Taking lots of pictures for Blogtober

I’m definitely not a visual person; I much prefer words, but recently I’ve been loving creating flatlays for my recent Blogtober posts. Autumn (as you most definitely already know) is my favourite time of year and I always find that I’m the most creative at this time of year. I’ve been loving taking a plethora of photos for my upcoming posts in the next few weeks and I can’t wait for you to see them!

7. The most amazing day at the Bloggers Blog Awards

If you saw my post last week, you’ll know that I spent a whole Saturday catching up with my favourite internet girls at the Bloggers Blog Awards. It was a day that was filled with many laughs, a whole load of chatting and a few too many vodkas; it really was the most perfect day.

8. Date night at Frankie and Benny’s and watching Kingsman: The Golden Circle

You know how much I love date night with Matt and last Wednesday we headed for a gorgeous meal at Frankie and Benny’s and then straight to the cinema to watch the new Kingsman movie. The meal was delicious (I’m the biggest fan of Italian food anyway) and the movie was incredibly funny; I think I actually prefered it to the first one!

9. Baking cookies with my little sister

If you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen the disaster that was the chocolate orange cookies that I baked on Saturday. They were a tad on the crispy side and ever so slightly too big; but they did taste pretty nice so there’s that.

10. Watching Forrest Gump and enjoying a mammoth takeaway

Matt and I spent our whole Saturday babysitting (hence the baking cookies) and once the kids were in bed we settled down with a delicious, greasy takeaway in front of our favourite movie. It was absolutely perfect.
