As you’re reading this I’m currently sunning myself up in Palma de Mallorca (probably actually getting burnt to a crisp) but if you follow me on Twitter you’ll know just how excited I’ve been for this holiday with Matt. We haven’t been back from Venice that long but everything has been so busy recently it’s so nice to be away just the two of us.
I’ve seen a lot of these posts floating around the Blogosphere recently and they’re some of my absolute favourites to read; I was originally inspired by Sophie’s posts as I adore reading her regular installments of happiness. I’m thinking of making these types of posts a semi regular thing so let me know if you enjoy reading it!
Here’s things that have made me really happy recently (btw, it consists of a LOT of food):
1. A lazy Sunday full of blogging and Gossip Girl
To be perfectly honest, I spent almost every Sunday writing blog posts and watching Gossip Girl but I find that it’s such a lovely way to chill out before a busy week commences and it lets me schedule all my content for the week ahead.
2. Blogging opportunities
In the last few weeks I’ve been fortunate enough to receive a number of different blogging opportunities and I honestly could not be more grateful. It’s so incredibly humbling to see my hard work paying off and other people acknowledging my efforts.
3. A meal at my parents’ house
I try to go round and visit my family a few times a week and I absolutely love spending quality time with them, especially as I don’t live with them anymore. It’s so nice to be able to catch up with them with a glass of wine and a nice meal.
4. Watching Game of Thrones with Matt
I can’t believe that this season of GoT is over; how amazing has it been this season?! One of my favourite parts of the week has been settling down on the sofa and enjoying the excitement that this crazy show brings. I can’t believe we now have to wait until next year for the final season!
5. Having dinner at Matt’s dad’s house
Last week we headed round to Matt’s dad’s for a lovely meal and a catch up. Family is so important to me so it’s nice to be able to spend quality time with both Matt’s family and my family.
6. Blog event with Origins
I’ll have a post up soon all about this incredible event but if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you’ve probably already seen how much I loved the event. It was hosted by Em Sheldon at the new Origins store in York and it was a lovely night filled with chatter, canapés and prosecco; absolute heaven.
7. A night out with work colleagues
It’s not that often that we do things out of the office but it was really lovely to have a delicious meal at Cosmo and then head out for a few drinks (well, water in my case as I was driving…) in town with everyone. It’s nice to get to know the people that I work with a bit better outside of office hours.
8. My family and friends telling me they’re proud of me
There’s literally no better feeling in the world than the people closest to me telling me that they’re proud of me. I’ve been working extremely hard recently and it’s so nice to have that positive affirmation from the people who mean the most to me.
9. A meal at Pizza Hut with one of my oldest friends
Since leaving school it’s become increasingly hard to make time to see friends but it’s so incredibly important to do; especially the ones who are always there for you. On Friday night I headed to Pizza Hut to catch up with one of my best friends and it was such a lovely evening full of pizza, garlic bread and a good ol’ gossip. It was so, so good <3.
Obviously, our holiday had to feature on this list! I’m having such a lovely time exploring, relaxing by the pool, soaking up the sun and spending some quality time with Matt.
I hope you all have a wonderful week! What are your plans for the week ahead? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @imjustagirl_16.
P.S Make sure you’re following me on Insta to keep up with what I’m up to in Mallorca!
