If you follow me on literally any social media channel, you’ll know that date night is one of my absolute favourite things EVER. I love getting to spend that quality time with Matt, because even though we live together, it’s still lovely to dedicate a specific ‘date’ to enjoy spending quality time with each other. I’ve written a few posts in the past about date night ideas but today’s post is specifically about the things that you can you do in Yorkshire for a more fun and unique date day/night.
Whether you’re currently in a relationship and need some date night inspo, or you’re looking for somewhere to take your next suitor that you met on the Yorkshire dating site; this post is for you!
1. A day at the seaside
Spending time at the seaside is one of my favourite things to do. From paddling in the sea, to seeing who can win (lose) the most 2ps on the slot machines, to eating a whole lot of candy floss; the seaside is a perfect place for a date. Head there early and enjoy a day playing on the arcades, have fish and chips for your tea and then take a romantic stroll along the beach just as the sun is setting; there’s literally nothing more romantic. Visit one of the many seaside towns in Yorkshire, whether it’s Scarborough, Filey or Whitby, you’re sure to have a date to remember.

2. Visit Dalby Forest
If you’re more of an adventure couple then Dalby Forest can be a great place for a date. You could take a picnic and enjoy exploring the forest, or take your bikes and go mountain biking. There’s even Go Ape! there where you can embark on a tree climbing adventure.
3. Go on a bar crawl
This one might not be the best idea if you’ve only just met but if you’re in a relationship then going on a bar crawl can be so much fun. Matt and I love going out for cocktails and exploring the local bars, whether it’s in York or Leeds, there’s plenty of places to visit to enjoy a drink or five. Some of my favourite places to go for a drink are The Alchemist, The Botanist and Slug and Lettuce.
4. Go to the races
There are nine different racecourses in Yorkshire, with some of the most popular being York, Doncaster and Ripon. The races can be such a fun day out, whether it’s your first date or your 100th date. Enjoy a day of getting all dressed up, having a few drinks and enjoy watching the horse racing.
Grab your date for the races at over 50s dating, Leeds.
5. Doncaster Dome
There’s plenty to do at The Dome, from ice skating to swimming to bowling. It’s a perfect place for a date as there’s so much to enjoy and take part in. Race your partner round the rink or enjoy a few hours in the water park.
6. Flamingo Land
Theme parks are one of my favourite places to go, no matter who I’m with. But, going to a theme park for a date can be incredibly fun. As long as you both enjoy going on rides and having a fun-filled day, then Flamingo Land is the perfect place for you!
7. Yorkshire Wildlife Park
There’s plenty of things to see at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and you can be sure to have an incredible time with your beau. If you’re both animal lovers then YWP will be the ideal place for a first date as you’ll get to do something you both love while getting to know each other.

8. Winter Wonderland at York Designer Outlet
While the photo above may be from my time ice skating at The Rockefeller in NYC, the concept still applies so please bare with me. Ice skating can be an incredibly romantic thing for you to enjoy with your partner as you can wrap up warm, get your skates on and then enjoy a delicious hot chocolate afterwards. Matt and I went to the Winter Wonderland last Christmas time and it was such a lovely way to spend the evening; I can’t wait to do it again this winter!
9. The Deep
Located in Hull, The Deep is a great place for a date as it’s not your typical kind of date. You’ll get to explore the vast aquarium while wandering round and getting to know each other more. If you’re both fans of everything sea life related then this will be the perfect place for you to visit together.
10. Leeds Festival
Leeds Fest is definitely a unique (albeit pretty expensive) place to go on a date but it will be incredibly fun. It’ll allow you to see your partner in an entirely new light as you’ll see how well they handle living in a tent, trekking through copious amounts of mud and sh*tting in the worst portaloos imaginable…
Xscape is open from early morning to late into the evening so you can enjoy a full day doing an abundant different things. From Snozone to Gravity trampolining to Laserzone, there’s so much to do you’re sure to have an incredibly memorable date.
12. Brimham Rocks
Whether you’re into climbing or not, Brimham Rocks can be a lovely place to go on a date as there’s a plethora of gorgeous scenery to be admired. You’ll have a lovely time at Brimham Rocks, especially if it’s nice weather as you’ll be able to see miles of picturesque countryside.

13. York Maze
York Maze is often something that’s largely associated with families and children, and while that’s true, it can still be a great place to go if you’re a couple. You’ll get to wander through the puzzling maze and it’ll give you a chance to work together, so if it’s your first date then it could be a great ice-breaker.
