I am obsessed with skincare products- anything that makes my skin feel and look as silky smooth as the Kardashians’ and I am 100% on board. There’s been a selection of products lately that I have been loving; some skincare, haircare and makeup products, so today I thought I’d put together a little round up of my favourite products over the last few months or so.
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you’ll know that I spent last weekend at Hollins Hall Marriott Hotel & Country Club with my mum and sister. It was an early Mother’s Day present from my dad to my mum, and my sister and I just tagged along! It was so lovely to just do absolutely nothing for 24 hours (and also have a full body massage and two naps!). I’ve actually stayed at Hollins Hall with Matt before but we didn’t really use any of the spa facilities so it was nice to go back and experience it differently!
I love a good interiors post- anything that has pretty cushions, fairy lights and candles and I am obsessed. As I’ve just recently started a new job, I’ve been spending most days at my desk and I’ve found myself becoming increasingly lusting after stationery, so today I thought I’d put together a post on the “essential” items that I keep on my desk. And yes, that does include BBQ Pringles and a chocolate orange. Continue reading “My Office Desk Essentials”
I am by no means a beauty expert, my contour never goes how I plan in my head and to my boyfriend’s dismay, it takes me approximately 17 minutes to do my eyeliner for a night out. But despite that, I absolutely LOVE makeup and I have *quite* the extensive makeup collection.
With Mother’s Day just a few weeks away I thought I’d put together a gift guide on the things that you could treat your mum with. My mum is without a doubt one of the most important people in my life. She will literally do anything for me and she’s one of the most selfless, funniest, bravest people I know. Happy Mother’s Day mum.
If you saw my post about autumn and winter last year then you’ll know that they will always be my favourite seasons, but I do love it when spring comes around too. There’s always more optimism in the air and people generally seem happier. So today I thought I’d put together a little blog post on the reasons why I love spring and the things that I’m looking forward to.
I love when all the blossom trees get their flowers on; they look so pretty and instagramable!
It starts to become acceptable to go out with just a light jacket or jumper on (although I do love wearing lots of layers, it is nice to wear pretty dresses and skirts again.)
There seems to be an overall happy feeling wherever you go; everyone seems to be more uplifted and positive.
Lighter nights and longer days- it’s nice to be able to come home from work while it’s still light!
Similarly, I love waking up to blue skies, (or blueish- I do live in England so we are often prone to a lot of rain!) it makes the start of my day just a little bit better.
My birthday! It usually always falls around the Easter holidays so I’ve never been at school or work on my birthday- and that alone is something to celebrate!
Easter. And ALL of the easter eggs.
Even though I’m definitely not an outdoorsy person, I do enjoy the ability to go on walks instead of being cooped up inside all day.
The anticipation of Summer and everything that comes with it- barbecues, beer gardens and holidays!
The return of PLL! This actually only applies to this year but I’m still SO excited for the season finale.
“No tights season” is finally here.
There’s so much more opportunity to take pictures- this is definitely a bonus for bloggers who usually only have about 2 hours of good sunlight a day to take pictures in the winter!
I always feel more motivated in the spring, while I adore autumn/winter and all the cosiness that comes with it, I’m definitely more lazy as I just want to stay in my pyjamas all day.
There is always a good amount of bank holidays in spring, which means extra days off work to do whatever you want!
What things do you love about spring? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @imjustagirl_16.
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you’ll know that I spent last weekend in Budapest. I booked the trip a few months ago as a surprise birthday present for Matt and I can definitely say that it was a good choice! It was such a beautiful, picturesque place (as you’ll be able to see from the pictures, most of which were actually taken by Matt!) and I would definitely go back there.
February was a very productive and rewarding month for me. I started a new job in digital marketing which I love, whilst still managing to work weekends at Starbucks. I started updating my blog more which I’m really keen to keep up with as I love writing. I also read an awful lot of blogs this month to try and gain inspiration, and in doing so I discovered a vast number of posts that I loved, therefore I thought I’d share them with you. I’m thinking of making it a monthly thing so let me know if you enjoyed reading.
My favourite blogger of February was definitely Jemma as she was so consistent with her uploads and her posts were always filled with fun, interesting content. Jemma is also always so lovely and interactive on Twitter and she seems like a genuinely lovely person. Some of my favourite posts of Jemma’s this month were ‘6 Things To Do When You Crave Change’, ‘10 Things I’m Super Grateful For Lately’ and ‘Pinterest Home Decor Inspiration’. I also binge-listening to Jemma’s podcast with her boyfriend a lot this month and I absolutely loved it! You can find it at ‘The Odd Pear’ podcast.
Megs from Wonderful You wrote an extremely honest and raw post about depression and how it has affected her and although it breaks my heart to know what she is going through, I thought she curated the post beautifully.
I’ve been absolutely loving Carrie’s posts about her wedding and honeymoon over the past few weeks but the one that stood out for me was her ‘Honeymooning in the Maldives post’. Carrie’s posts always feature the most beautiful photographs but this post had my Maldives’ envy in serious overdrive!
It is no secret that I’m *slightly* obsessed with Hannah Gale’s blog and there is literally always something fantastic to read on her blog. One of my favourite posts of Hannah’s this month was her ‘Three Things To Do When You’re Struggling With Blogger’s Block’. Even though I’m only just getting properly into blogging I saved this post as I’m sure it will come in useful in the months to come.
Wear Daisy Went wrote a blog post this month on ‘50 Blog Post Ideas‘ which I think is very useful for anyone starting out blogging, or for anyone who is stuck in a bit of a blogging rut.
‘What to Pack for New York in Winter‘ by Sher She Goes was a very informative, beautifully put-together post. As NYC is by far my favourite place in the world, I obviously saved this post to look back on when I make my next visit to the Big Apple.
I’ve been reading Katy’s blog for a while now and I always particularly enjoy her posts about York as I actually live in York. Her post ‘7 Things To Do In York‘ was an enjoyable read as I could relate to everything she said!
So that’s my monthly round-up of posts that I’ve been loving in February. What posts have you loved this month?
